Freehand Los Angeles - Photo Gallery

It was only a short stay for one day after my late night flight, and I left at around 6am for the further sightseeing. Location is great, not really far from the metro station (around 10mins walk) which is on the same line as Union Station. Not far from all the touristy spots (central library, walt disney music hall, central library, central market...etc) in downtown, all walking distance! It's located in a building with elevator, with a pool (unfortunately I didn't have chance to check it) and the staff is super helpful and friendly! Room is nice, not big very pretty functional, and there is a shared bathroom in the room. Overall this was a very great experience with the price! Highly recommended to those travellers with budgets.

I enjoyed my stay at Freehand. Coffee shop and comfortable seating in the lobby (and some beautiful butterfly not so comfy seating, too). Has a very organic vibe with lots of plants, which I love. The rooftop restaurant and bar had an interesting crowd. Service was hit or miss. I'm not sure how often people actually eat there, but the ceviche was very good, and I'm a bit of a picky eater.

The blanket feels like not so clean as they dont have the white sheet The first room was full of smell of **** which is so horrible so I request a room change then it was much better But still quite expensive for a hostel The locker require your own lock which is inconvenient

Cool concept hotel. Retro vibe of the hotel that attracts people travel for pleasure and business travelers. The location is great, and it is near DTLA, and you can walk to major places in downtown LA. The retro vibe is cool with the lobby lounge that you can hang out, but the room furniture's and bed felt very old and squeaks, and the mattress was sunken. I understand the design elements should look like "collected" pieces over the years, but they look cheap and not properly made. The bed frame was way bigger than the bed, and It was on its way, so I got a number of bruises. So if you are staying here, be careful. Hotel is affordable compared to other hotels. The entire hotel is generally dark, I had a hard time putting makeup on to trying to find the right light source. It would ve great if the room had the brighter lights. The hotel was quiet, considering it is located downtown.

The service was super nice. Very cool pool at the rooftop and very well located. Would go again!

Very polite and helpfull staff. Rooms are very nice and tidy, great way to meet some new people. The food is very good as well 💯
