My friends and I recently booked an apartment with Urban Chic in early May, through *******. We were assigned to the apartment at 167 Bonchurch in Portobello. Check in was easy. The space and the location were quite good. However, there was a major problem that we attempted to rectify from the first evening of our stay. THERE WAS NO HOT WATER!!! Upon arrival, we noticed there was no hot water. We called the Urban Chic emergency phone number and were told they could not help us and we should call the office in the morning. We called the next morning and were told that a maintenance person from Urban Chic would come by and attempt to solve the problem. The maintenance man, arrived and tried to figure out what was wrong. He was unable to solve the water problem. He did however, note some of the other issues we had with the apartment, such as no labeling on thermostats, broken foot plate under the dishwasher, dishwasher hinges not working properly, lack the of hooks for hanging towels or toilet paper etc. We were told that building management would be called to repair the problem. However, there seemed to be no follow through by Urban Chic. When I called Urban Chic to check on the situation, I was told that your company had no control over building management. Needless to say, the problem was never fixed. I emailed Urban Chic three times since our stay and have yet to get any response.
