Flawless in design, execution and service! I write many hotel reviews, having traveled for decades for business around the world. I have never written such a positive review in my life. The Soho Hotel...where do I begin? Check-in was easy and completed quickly. As I arrived early my room wasn't quite ready and the offered me the use of a shower room if I wanted to freshen up after a long flight. So thoughtful. They also enquired about whether I needed any plug converters, or anything else to make my stay easier. And the front desk manager remembered my name days later and said good morning to me as I walked out of the hotel. The room: the design of the room is exquisite with color and textures given the eye a feast on a daily basis. There is a large solid wood desk for a laptop and work papers. The lighting in the room is subtle and plentiful. The bed comfy with fine linens and diving pillows. But here's the big difference: the carpet was thick and plush with no runs or tears, the wallpaper with no peeling corners, and the wooden baseboard not scuffed by vacuum cleaners. Seriously...the room looks like it was made just for my visit it is that well maintained and serviced. The bathroom: all in marble, with five fluffy hot towels always in supply. My room had an extra long and deep soaking tub, and a separate spacious shower enclosure. The hot water is instant on (no waiting for hot water to come from the depths of the basement) and easy to use, with strong water pressure and abundant stream. There are double sinks, and plenty of counter space for toiletries, etc. The entire space is whistle clean and spacious. Other: Room service arrives served by an attendant who is handsome and well dressed. No overweight guy whose shirt isn't tucked in and looks harried. All you get here throughout the place is smiles and a feeling that you are entirely welcome. The location of the hotel in the heart of Soho places it within walking distance of the West End, the gayborhood, Pall Mall, Fortnum & Mason, Oxford Street, etc as well as dozens of restaurants and shops. Breakfast here is a treat for the eye and stomach ... the servers are welcoming and service is gracious and unhurried. Tea comes with a preheated cup, and the china used throughout breakfast service is designed by Kit Kemp for Wedgwood and just GORGEOUS. The buffet was refreshed often, and featured all the usuals plus a huge bowl of fresh mixed berries daily which is a real treat. What makes this place unique? A great location in a thriving neighborhood. Flawless execution by the staff; eye-catching design that soothes and delights; and a staff that genuinely makes one feel welcome and valued as a guest. This isn't the cheapest place in town, but I would argue that it is the finest hotel in London. Don't hesitate! IT's worth every pound! The experience here is sublime.
