Best Western hotels are all unique. As they are independently operated but are all part of the Best Western group support. And this is why I prefer them as it’s a little adventure every time. They are always clean but you don’t get the Premier Inn standard design. So don’t expect that. Like this one still gives you a key for example. The bed is very comfortable. The location has nice views of fields but a few rooms face the road so you can hear cars of windows are open. The service is very friendly and genuine even though some staff are inexperienced so fantastic overall. I had very low expectations of the food as it’s a small hotel but the starter ( Panko Breaded Goats Cheese) the main ( Chicken Balmoral - haggis inside a chicken breast ) and dessert ( bread and butter pudding ) was really delicious and looked great on the plate. I think it’s the best dinner I have had in 6 months of business trips. It was so good I nearly ordered the seafood linguine as well:) If you want a bland experience with average food go to Premier Inn as the beds are normally very comfortable. If you want a friendly , genuine experience with fantastic food. Try this hotel.

I booked it last minute to visit Lockerbie memorials & for my partner & I getting married at Gretna. I realised I had only added 1 adult for an overnight stay. Once we checked in however, the reception were incredible at spotting my error and helped us out. I thought the building itself was very nice and it had a lovely character to it. Our room was large, spotless and it had a comfy bed. The best part of our stay was the family staff, they were all friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return here again ourselves in the future.
