The 5 star is for the location and breakfast. The location is excellent right near the beach and next to main shopping street. Breakfast was really good too with full English breakfast and machine lattes The rooms are very outdated especially the carpet. The rooms look more 2 star hotel.

This hotel is not recommended! The whole decor of the hotel is mismatched with wall paper peeling off, poor paint work and cracks. The seating is old, and again mismatched. On arrival I was given the key to room 202. I was told it was a single and it was a single or more like a large cupboard. The bedding was clean but the bed itself had seen better days. The carpet was threadbare and the lampshades were frayed. The wardrobe, obviously a single, had seen better days with the melamine peeling and had three coat hangers in it. There was nowhere to put my suitcase so I cleared the "dressing table" which had the kettle and tv on it and put it there. I was worried it was going to collapse - all it was was a piece of wood glued to the wall. The bathroom had been refitted and was clean but I had to shut the door to get to the toilet it was so small. The door to the room needed re-painting. The lock was coming away from the door and the Do Not Disturb sign was ripped. I did complain about my room and was told that for an extra £10 a night I could have a double. I asked to see this. The room was no better, with, once again peeling wallpaper, a small bathroom and four coat hangers in the wardrobe. Once again there was no place to put a suitcase. There were two mismatched chairs. The window had a exit to a fire escape so, in my opinion, I wouldn't have felt safe leaving a window open and there was a very musty smell. I declined the room. To gain entrance to the hotel there are seven steps to climb and for anyone with mobility problems this is difficult. The terrace outside could do with a good clean, weeding and litter pick. The paving was unsafe. Once again, the furniture was mismatched. If I had walked past the hotel there was no way I would have booked in as it looked unwelcoming and dirty. The dining room was decorated in the same wall paper as the bedrooms circa 1980. The tables were small. It was very cold and unwelcoming. We were asked to choose our meals for the week on the first night. The food itself, was passable with big portions of tinned potatoes and well done vegetables. The vegetables were even served with curry and lasagne. Several guests did remark on this but were told that the chef was a feeder and never listened. The amount of waste was amazing. We were given no choice of whether we wanted vegetables or not - they were just dumped on the table. I am mainly vegetarian so had a baked potato with salad - the salad looked as if it had seen better days. Breakfast was a help yourself affair with a hot selection of food. There were two toasters and two selections of Asda bread (brown or white) still in wrappers and just use your fingers to serve it - no hygiene involved at all. The tables weren't laid so we had to remember to get cutlery before sitting down. It was also made very clear that the staff were anxious to leave at 9.00pm so there was no lingering over dinner. Again, if we wanted a drink from the

Fantastic staff, really friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel as part of a coach tour. The things that let this hotel down: Decor is really outdated. The view from our room overlooked the fire escape but that didn’t bother us too much. The major problem was the size of the bathroom as the shower is absolutely tiny. The door on the shower folds into the inside of the shower and you have to be a contortionist to use it! I have never been to a hotel with a shower this small. Other than these issues the hotel is really clean and all staff work really hard. Dinner very regimental - we were told we had to be in the dining room for 6.30 sharp and meals had to be ordered in advance for the length of our stay which I find really odd as most nights I’d forgotten what I’d ordered. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice of both hot and cold options. We had a lovely time in Llandudno and if this hotel was updated I would consider staying again.

First of all amazing value, we spent 5 nights here 28/04/2025 - 03/05/2025 and the crisp clean bed sheets and bath towels were very welcoming, the rooms were serviced daily and provided a nice clean retreat after a busy day. The Breakfast was also fantastic full Welsh/English with fresh fruit and cereals with as much tea/coffee and toast as you wish. On top of this the staff were really helpful and friendly, proving that a well run hotel means a friendly hotel. The location was unbeatable A1. Close to both the town centre and the promenade, beach and pier. Access to the hotel is up half a dozen steps, with which the hotel staff are glad to assist you with if needed, once inside their is a very modern lift to access all levels. We finished every day off with a drink or two in the bar area overlooking the street, Stephan the receptionist also ran the bar and always made time for a chat. Thia will be my first choice hotel when visiting beautiful North Wales and I would gladly reccomment it to anybody.

The hotel is very quaint and the bedroom was welcoming on first floor, with large bay window with seating arranged in it and side view to sea. Parking was explained at reception and turned out to be quite easy within the time frame given by the permitted free spaces just outside. This could be cited on the hotel website for those who are booking without prior knowledge. The hotel location is excellent near shops and cafes.
Breakfast in the basement self service was very good with wide selection (and included in price).
Negatives - reception fairly detached or more concerned with the coach parties and no help given to take bags up to the room for us oldies.

Brilliant place, superb location, was half the price of a different place I've stayed up that way, but definitely not half the quality, really nice hotel, no issues at all.
