The hotel is centrally located and can be reached from the train station within a few minutes on foot or by bus. The York Road bus stop is just a few meters away. The hotel itself is unfortunately showing its age and is in urgent need of renovation both inside and out. Creaking floors and the old charm can easily be overlooked, but the paint is peeling off the walls and wallpaper is loose. The reception area and the restaurant are clean, but the hallway to my room was not cleaned for the whole week. The room was also rather sparsely cleaned when we arrived; the previous occupant's toothpaste was still in the sink, the bathroom was full of mold and limescale, and the floor in the room had not been cleaned. The water only came out of the shower sparingly. The super nice person did his best, but I cannot in good conscience recommend the hotel.

General standards. The front table is often empty. You have to ring the bell. Stay for two nights, explain that the room will not be cleaned in the middle, change towels, if necessary, can be requested. The room is close to the road, and two nights there were pedestrians talking loudly outside the street, disturbing people's dreams. The worst part is that only the downstairs lobby has wifi, which needs to be improved. In addition, I can't get used to the gray sheets and quilts, because I can't see if there are no stains.

One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The variety and quality of the food were impressive, with something to suit every taste. It was the perfect way to start the day before exploring the city.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests or questions. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and relaxing.
