The house is beautiful, the food is excellent and the price is not expensive. But the service was terrible. I saw a girl with a child and they didn't help her with her luggage. I guess this is the UK today.

Building work on going which we were not advised about Accommodation very nice but both Sunday lunch and breakfast were poor Lunch had clearly been stood for a long time Breakfast pancakes were pre prepared and fruit compote not fully defrosted

A late ish booking for the Dark Skies event....and a wished for visit to the Dales. Long time since I visited last. and well worth the wait. Some building work going on with much promise for when its all completed. (Make a note of this....) Warm welcome into a spacious bar and much welcome drinks. Room itself well appointed, good linen and generous towels. I am both Coeliac and diabetic and do sometimes struggle. The menu offered plenty of choice. The sea bass was beautifully prepared. Dessert was a bit disappointing. Given that....still a lovely meal The Dark skies event was to view the constellations under the guidance of a very knowledgeable astronomer. Plenty of viewing opportunities even in the bitter cold. Would I go again?? Oh yes please...

Our experience of this hotel was below expectations. On the outside it is a lovely old inn. On the inside it has been modernised but not in a good way - all the character ripped out. Our room in the annex was too small and the scruffy bathroom needs replacing. The restaurant had very limited choice and no coffee available,also quite expensive for what was served. Day one breakfast was ok but day two’s was poor. My choice of shatshuka was on the menu but not available. We were told coffee was not available at which point I blew up. But the coffee machine was broken they said. I protested and a pot of instant was produced. Come on guys - even the most basic b&b can serve you COFFEE! The location is good but note the very steep path to the falls would defeat anyone with mobility issues. There is a fabulous pub restaurant in Askrigg near by - the Kings Arms.

Pleasant reception and welcome at check in Danny showed us to our room on the top floor with humour and pleasant chatter Explained how the room lights worked on the bed head , secret switches we would probably never have found . Evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast this morning also hot and perfectly cooked to our taste

Everything fabulous here! Hotel, location, food, staff! The room was beautiful ( with a built in wireless charger!) Breakfasts awesome, and other meals great as well. The location was perfect. We visited Swaledale, Cumbria and Wensledale.

Lovely Hotel situated near to the magnificent Falls and close by to many attractive parts of the Yorkshire Dales. The restaurant provides good food and the breakfast in particular offers great variety and tasty food. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is run well. Rooms are modern and very clean and provide a lovely accommodation for a few day stay. It has attractive gardens and is close to the river and the Falls.
