We were a little disappointed during our recent stay. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was fine, but our room in the South building was small, dark and pretty dingy. The shower was tiny and the hot water was hit or miss. So, if you decide to stay here, I recommend staying in the nicer main building.

This review is for a single Queen Bed room in the South Lodge at the Yankee Inn. While the Yankee Inn has been around forever, it came under the Wyndham umbrella in recent years. The Single Queen room in South Lodge is the cheapest price category. I don't believe the rooms in the South Lodge have been recently renovated, unlike the rooms in the main lodge. if you are looking for something nicer, book a room in the main lodge building. I was looking for 1-night accommodation after a Tanglewood concert on a friday, and I was happy to see a very reasonable rate at Yankee Inn ($225). Many hotels in the area have 2-night minimums, and generally $400+/night. The hotel location is halfway between Lenox and Pittsfield, super convenient to everything. There are a number of hotels along this stretch, with HoJo directly across the street, Hampton Inn next door, and then there's the new Element by Westin, Berkshires Untold (formerly Life House), and Courtyard by Marriott just down the road. From Yankee Inn to Tanglewood is about a 10-min drive. If I have to quibble, it's that I wish the ENTER ONLY and EXIT ONLY signs to the property are bigger and lit up at night. When I arrived it was daytime so I was able to see the ENTER sign clearly. However, returning after the concert at night, several cars were trying to turn into the ENTER driveway but there was a car exiting from the ENTER driveway, blocking us from turning in. Check-in and Check-out went smoothly; the front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely highlight of my stay. Free coffee, hot water (for tea) in the lobby. The South Lodge is separate from the main building. All the rooms have exterior entry. There is no elevator for 2nd floor rooms. (If you stay in the main lodge, there is an elevator). There are no Adirondack chairs outside the rooms but there are wooden benches (see attached photos). My room is spacious (with a single queen bed). It's kind of separated between the bedroom area and the bathroom area. Bathroom is also spacious, with sink area separated from bathtub/toilet. The a/c unit is in the bathroom section (see attached photos), but it is an older unit so pretty noisy. I left it on while I was out but had to turn it off when I went to sleep. The room stayed nice and cool. Even though Yankee Inn is right next to Route 7/20, my room (2nd floor, middle section of South Lodge) is surprisingly quiet, I didn't really hear much traffic noise, nor much noise from my neighbors. Bed is comfortable, pillows a bit lumpy. The only "complaint" I have is I wish there were sheer/privacy curtains for the window that opens to the outdoor corridor. That window is the main source of natural light for the hotel room but anytime someone walks past your room along the common corridor, they can see directly into your room. (see attached photo) I have to keep the curtains closed to maintain privacy. There is a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room which I didn't use (

Great service. Shelly got us a great room. We were late and cancelled but she made it work. Clean rooms and a great breakfast

Let me be clear -- The Yankee Inn in Lenox is a decent hotel. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are quiet, and the service is decent. But when my wife and I stayed there during the third weekend of July we were charged over $300 per night for our room, and that was simply outrageous. For over $300 a night you really ought to get a closet in which to hang your clothes, or at least a clothes rod. But we didn't get any such thing at The Yankee Inn. Nor was there a rack on which to put our suitcase. There was an air conditioner built into the wall, and it did work, but it made such a loud noise every time it turned on that it woke both of us up. The bathroom was tiny and the water temperature very difficult to adjust. If you thought you had the balance between hot and cold just right, a few seconds later that balance would be gone. But the worse part was the fact that the only mirror -- a tiny one at that -- was at a 45 degree angle to the sink, which meant that I had to turn my head around in order to shave. Not much fun (and in fact I cut myself badly at one point thanks to the gymnastics I was forced to perform). The hotel advertises a "hot breakfast" and makes it seem that it will be special, but in fact it is almost identical to the breakfasts we have had in chain hotels across the country, except that the so-called "scrambled eggs" were so tasteless as to be inedible, and the sausages extremely greasy to the point where I passed them up. There was good coffee, pastries and fruit, along with make-you-own waffles. Ok, but shouldn't one get a bit more than that for $300 per night? The hotel is located on a very busy highway and there is no traffic light to help you exit. We found we sometimes had to wait more than five minutes before being able to make a simple right-hand turn. Would The Yankee Inn be worth $150 a night at the height of the summer season? Maybe, although I think that is still too high relative to what you get. At $300 a night I would definitely advise looking elsewhere.

Stayed at the Yankee Wyndham Hotel in Lenox for one night while going to Tanglewood Concert. This hotel was very clean, staff is friendly and helpful. The guest rooms are large, beds very comfortable and nice large, clean bathroom. The outdoor pool is very clean with plenty of lounge chairs. Recommend this hotel when looking for a place to stay while going to Tanglewood!!

The accommodations were not on the main building but in adjacent, older room. The door couldn't be locked from the inside, the ironing board and iron were broken, there was someone that smoked next door even though it was supposed to be smoke free, the flower pots had no flowers in contrast to the main building giving the place just a second rate look, which it is. Not worth the over $300 per night of the holiday weekend.

We stayed one night after attending a concert at tanglewood. It was conveniently located 10 minutes from tanglewood. The rooms were spacious and clean. The Adirondack chairs outside weee a nice touch, as was the included breakfast. Much better option than some of the overpriced options in the area.

Perfectly clean converted motor lodge with small breakfast room, warm indoor pool and sauna, small gym and outdoor pool. Loved the access to the beautiful field and pond right outside our rooms, perfect for throwing around a ball with our boys. Well-priced considering the holiday time period (july 4th) and last-minute booking. Would recommend that they install a water bottle refiller on each floor, and vary up the the options for breakfast - the baked goods (blueberry muffin, danish) seemed store-bought and not very fresh. Location is excellent, 10 min from every main town.
