The room I was given was wrong at the beginning. After I changed it, the facilities were old and shabby, the bed had a sour smell and white hair. The breakfast was made in advance and there was nothing to eat. I didn't feel full.

There is beautiful parkland around the property and friendly and helpful staff. I was a little disappointed with the lack of menu options available in the afternoon. The bedrooms and hotel are fabulous and very comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again.

I recently attended a business Christmas event at Winstanley House in Leicester, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The venue itself is stunning, with beautiful surroundings that set a perfect atmosphere for any occasion. We were exceptionally well looked after by Mo, who went above and beyond to ensure that all our room choices were sorted smoothly, making everything stress-free and enjoyable. The service was attentive and professional, and the staff made us feel very welcome throughout the event. The food and facilities were top-notch, and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our business celebration. Highly recommend Winstanley House for both business and personal events!

We celebrated my 80th birthday at Winstanley House on Saturday 23rd November. As a party of 19 close family we had exclusive use of the private dining room in the Black Iron restaurant. It proved to be a perfect venue. We really appreciated the care and consideration shown by the reception staff on our visits to plan and arrange the evening. In particular you showed flexibility by allowing us to add a cheeseboard as an alternative to the dessert course - and what an excellent cheeseboard it was! Everyone present spoke highly of the quality of the food and the well staffed and prompt service. When there are 19 people to serve the food needs to be delivered rapidly and smoothly - and it was. Great service on the drinks front too - you kept the bottles coming and the buckets of ice for the white wine and soft drinks was a nice touch. Finally, thanks to Ella who managed the meal so efficiently and was always on hand to respond to our needs. Thanks to the Black Iron team who made us feel really welcome and looked after us through the evening. Certainly an 80th birthday celebration to remember.

Went recently for a Xmas party. Venue was lovely, the parking attendants awful! Extremely rude parking attendant screamed at me for not parking an inch closer to the car next to me - no idea why because I was parking in between two cars so it wasn’t like another car could get in next to me or that there wasn’t enough space between my car and the one next to it! She also made me open my door (it was pitch black and I parked quite far from the entrance) so I was a bit intimidated because I didn’t know who this random woman banging on my window was! I have since called the venue to make a complaint - the woman who answered put me on hold then hung up on me! I sent messages via Instagram to the venue asking how to complain - haven’t had a response. It’s a shame because the venue is nice, but I’ve been put off from coming back because of the crappy parking attendant, who also made me feel anxious the whole night as I thought she might do something to my car!
