While the amenities and aesthetics of this resort look inviting, the customer experience is extremely poor. Upon checking into our room, we found that it hadn’t even been made with the previous occupant’s sheets, towel and rubbish still everywhere. On our last day, housekeeping rang the doorbell and came in at 9.50am without us opening the door for them, even though the Do Not Disturb sign was on. This was a gross invasion of privacy and disturbing to know that they are just walking into rooms uninvited. They wanted to begin turning over the room even though we had not checked out, and still had until 11am to do so. Not one apology or acknowledgment from anyone on front desk for these incidents. Definitely an instagram vs. reality resort, with money better spent elsewhere.

We stayed at Crystal Waters in early July. First the positives The food in both restaurants in the evening was beautiful, the quality of the drinks excellent and the pool areas lovely. Now the negatives We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe suite overlooking the pool. For me the bedrooms were a little small and the bathrooms even smaller. Our cleaners for the week were also poor . 4 days in a row they left 2 teenagers with just hand towels, I was also unable to find my pjs for 2 days because they had thrown them behind a curtain, One day it was windy and a bag of rubbish blew over outside our door . Their ability to diligently pick up broken glass from the steps and around the pool was less than adequate . Myself and my husband had to pick up shards of glass and then get them back for further brushing . I would also say their approach to cleaning the room was clean where you see . There were thick grimy handprints behind the door in the downstairs loo for example which I cleaned myself. We also had an issue one morning at breakfast when we went to use the toast machine . The brown bread was covered in thick green mould which we brought to the attention of the gentleman running the omelette station . In all my years of travelling I have never experienced this. The drinks and food is very expensive and also out and about in the small village that the hotel is situated in . We went on a boat trip one day from Nydri and the drinks and food there were so much cheaper , (over half the price) ! The cost to get there in hotel transport was 17 euros each way .
