Very disturbing experience. We stayed on the top floor in a room that was very dated and smelly. Bedroom - The plugs next to the bed didn’t work, cold water from taps, no heating, door lock faulty ( we were two women who already felt afraid from entry at reception to an intoxicated host), food wrapper behind bed side table, no bed side lamp. The bedroom window was broken by over 1.5cm at the too so the wind and noise all night was unpleasant. Bathrooms - The two bathrooms on the second floor were appalling. Both smelled very very bad of mould. One of the toilets moved about an inch and a half once you sat on it (we were desperate to pee after long travels). The showers looked disgusting so we did not wash. Whilst the hotel was hoovered the carpets throughout are very old and stinky. There was a smell of **** in reception. The stairs are thin and steep. All doors filthy. The beds were fine to sleep on, bedsheets clean but you could see under the mattress and pillows were yellow. Walls paper thin. We ignored this and went to sleep as we had to catch a very early flight. We believe people live here full time and there may be a personal hygiene issue. Free carpark difficult to get into, watch your car doesn’t scrap the ground as you enter down the pot hole hill. Bar downstairs but no one in it which was good for noise. Horrendous. Diabolical. Nasty.

I had just spent 2 nites in hospital with my granddaughter had no sleep so booked this my God I got out taxi though I was entering a house out horror movie I was scared but needed sleep they place was horrid run down smelly dirty bed was clean that's about I put a chair in front of door with all my belongings on I was so scared never got any sleep was creepy bad when ya just want a bath but could not bring me self to go in. It it just wanted a nites sleep but that never happened they cost they took out my bank was more that it said in site never been so disappointed in my life was horrible I may as well sleeped in the street never known anything like it in my life people plz don't go

Clean room, handy location near to my event and free parking out the back. Otherwise as other reviewers have said, pretty much what you would expect for the price point and the age of the building. Staff were kind enough to let me check in a little early so I could get to my event on time, which was very helpful.

The Boundary Hotel - 2 Stars My partner and I booked a stay here last night, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the outside, the hotel/B&B looked incredibly run-down, with scaffolding up and a dirty front drive that gave a bad first impression. When we checked in, we were given keys to a very small room with two single beds. The room was extremely old-fashioned and felt uncomfortable. We requested a move and were given another room on the first floor, but this one was even worse. The door didn’t lock properly, which felt very unsafe—especially for us as autistic individuals. The room itself was cramped and outdated, and the bathroom was in terrible condition, with tiles hanging off the walls. To make matters worse, the bathwater and heating didn’t work at all. Overall, this was not a good stay and certainly not worth the £50 we paid. We won’t be staying here again.
