I was booked into a room with queen size bed as a single traveller and was happy with it - enough tea and coffee to last me, hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room….everything was there.
The view wasn’t great, but I’d didn’t book the room necessarily for the view, just somewhere to stay before catching the early Eurostar next day.
The best part of my stay? Xavier on reception - polite, funny, helpful - if he checks you in, it will all go smoothly!

The location is excellent. We are going to take a train from the East Station to Frankfurt. The station is just across the street from the hotel. If you also need to take a train from the East Station to enter and exit Paris, don't hesitate. Some reviews say that the surrounding environment is a bit messy, but I didn't feel that. The subway station is just one step away, and there are a lot of people around, so I basically don't feel unsafe. Paris was very hot a few days ago. Fortunately, the room had air conditioning. Although the cooling was insufficient, it was still quite cool when I calmed down. I didn't feel hot even when I covered myself with a quilt at night. But I dare not come to Paris in summer next time. If it is hot, there is no air conditioning anywhere. The hottest place is the subway, which is really unbearable.

During fete de la musique. Perfect location. No crowds at your hotel but a 15 minute walk and you are at the party. Right in front of the station and metro.
Check-in took 40 minutes which was REALLY a minus after a long journey but we were compensated by a room upgrade to the 8th floor which has larger rooms with a bath.
The air conditioning worked well for us. I did hear from others that in the other rooms on floor 5 the air conditioning did not work.
