We stayed in the Mayfair room last night & also had the 9 course tasting menu with paired wines. From the moment we arrived we knew that we weren't going to be disappointed! The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings right by the sea (a short walk down to the beach). The hotel has so many quirky pieces of art everywhere, just brilliant! Every member of staff we met were so friendly, welcoming & knowledgeable. The room? OMG it was beyond words, the best room we have EVER stayed in. The balcony with hot tub was absolutely stunning! We absolutely did not want to leave! The tasting menu, wine & service we had was what hospitality is all about. Blown away by it all. Such a fab atmosphere & we were treated like royalty. All of the waiting staff were brilliant & are a credit to the hotel. The breakfast was also delicious & set us up well for the day. This is now our go to place to stay near to home for a chilled out night away. Thank you so much! Oh & also pass on our congrats to 1 of our waiters from Saturday night (we didn't get his name) who we found out is a Newcastle fan. He'll be very chuffed right now, Toon Army!! 🤣🤣

Fantastic experience staying here at The Bay, everything was clean and tidy, beds were all very comfy, very spacious living with an enclosed garden for our children and our dog, swimming facilities were enjoyed by all. The staff are fantastic and very accommodating, we would definitely stay again.

We booked in just to have the amazing breakfast, before walking with our dogs to Looe (and back again) as it was such a beautiful day. The breakfast is really lovely. We both had the freshly cooked full English breakfast, made with locally sourced produce. Tea and filter coffee was included and delivered to our table. Between the two of us we also had fresh fruit juice, yogurt with the berry compote and stewed fruit. The fresh fruit, toast and a croissant. I highly recommend The Talland Bay Hotel. We have stayed here many times before and can not fault the hotel. On this occasion it was just for breakfast - but it was outstanding.

Well what a gem of a hotel. Maybe a hotel is too bland. The Talland Bay was nothing we had experience before from the friendly staff to the quirky Alice in Wonderland and fairytale decor out side an in. We were warmly welcomed at reception and right away made to feel at Home. The staff here are friendly and professional, from reception, the bar and through to the restaurant could not ask for better. Our suite with sea view was absolutely amazing. Luxury is an understatement. It contained everything one would need. Spacious, easy chairs to lounge in and a great four poster bed. The room was clean and well looked after. Not only are there great views form the room, you get even better with a short walk to the gardens. These are neat and well kept. In the evenings you can sit, sip your cocktail and watch the rabbits cavorting on the lawns. The restaurant is full of great decor and has a wonderful ambiance in the evenings. We chose to eat breakfast in the conservatory. Breakfasts were simply great with a wide choice from full "Cornish" to simple fruit and continental. Everyday was a joy to sit eat your breakfast with a sea view, Evenings started in the bar with a aperitifs or wine tasting. The sommelier was excellent in recommending the right wine for your choice of dinner. The dinners were again simply superbe every evening be it steak done to perfection, or fish just excellent. The last night we had freshly caught Lobster, which was in another class simply delicious. Having not had lobster for many a year it took me back to my childhood holidaying in Cornwall and having fresh lobster and crab regularly freshly cook, having been caught by my Grandfather that morning and boy did he know how to cook a Lobster! If you want a tranquillie setting for a quiet or romantic weekend then this is the place to be. We had three glorious nights here and would definitely recommend the Talland Bay Hotel. It is one of the best boutique hotels we have had the pleasure of staying at.

A 3 night stay “Coastal Paths and Bubble Baths” in this delightful hotel with quirky decor and art that need fully exploring. Little treats appeared in our room, the food was excellent, especially our included 9 course tasting menu with wines and a personalised printed menu. It’s the little touches that make the difference. But the best things about this hotel are the staff who obviously enjoy all they do. They are welcoming, kind, knowledgeable and delightful to interact with. We walked each day from the hotel along the coast path, met some interesting folk and had a great relaxing February break.

We came for our first visit here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. What a treat we had! The hotel decor is very quirky and zany, and made us smile. We were upgraded due to an issue with the room we’d booked and ended up in an amazing suite complete with hot tub. Despite the chilly weather we took a dip and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine over the view of the bay. What a great start to our one night stay in this hotel. Our room was superb, with a super comfy huge bed, lovely bed linens and huge soft towels. We had fresh milk in the fridge; home made biscuits; bone china cups and saucers and in the huge bathroom, gorgeous White Company bath products - no single use plastics here - hooray! We had the tasting menu with wine and were blown away by the quality of every course - utterly delicious. My husband especially enjoyed his conversations with the sommelier/server (sorry we didn’t ask her name). She was very well educated and confident about all the wines and their qualities and had personally chosen really excellent and unusual pairings for each course which she described with enthusiasm and energy. Breakfast was equally delicious although we didn’t really do it justice after the cuisine of the night before! The standout for us though, was the truly amazing staff team - everyone we met was super friendly and helpful; made us feel totally relaxed; and talked of their enjoyment in working here. The whole place is spotless and we could fault nothing. We’ll be returning for sure!

Popped in for a spot of lunch as being an ex local I wanted to show my partner my fave places, Talland being one! The young waitress and waiter were a credit to the business. I was touched by the young man taking our drinks from the bar to our conservatory table, especially as we only popped in for a bit of lunch. He was very chatty and friendly, which is a delight to see hospitality talent truly thriving in Cornwall. We had a perfect lunch, albeit just sandwiches, these were above and beyond well executed and brimming with filling. The truffle and Parmesan cheese fries were stunning. We did have a wedding just come in on our heels for afternoon tea and thought we would have to move on, but the staff were very accommodating and treated us just as important and well. The view and the sun really nailed it for us and what a great way to leave Cornwall. We will be back for Summer. Thank you.

Porth Glas, 5 The Bay. Excellent property. Very clean and tidy, with probably the best kitchen utensil provision we have ever experienced. 2 double rooms and 1 treble ( bunk beds + single) . We were 2 x Adult couples so we used the doubles. 3rd bedroom would be excellent for a family with children. We used the hot tub every evening after our daily coastpath walks and the roof top space would be amazing in the warmer weather or for star gazing. Access to South West Coast Path is direct from the site, with walks to Looe (East) and Polperro (West). We ate lunch at The Blue Peter in Polperro. We all had a beautiful seafood platter and at reasonable price. We didn't use the indoor pool or gym, but they looked lovely.
