Except for the front desk staff who were quite enthusiastic, the rest was really useless. It was so shabby that it felt like a pile of containers. The edges of the wooden cabinet doors were bumpy, the sound insulation was very poor, and there was blood on the north side of the bedspread. In China, the worst economy chain hotels would not be so shabby. This was the worst hotel I stayed in. I will never consider staying there or recommend it to anyone else.

The view from our room which is lake view is really good! Choose lower floor if you prefer sitting outside and relaxing. I am at the higher floor and there is no place outside to chill as the balcony facing the lake is all connected for the whole level. The location is just 5-7 mins walk to the Church so it is really strategic! Quite a number of food places nearby too.

The hotel is right by the lake and offers free parking. The whole town is not big. There is a lady at the front desk who seems to be an international student working here, so it is easy to communicate. The hotel does not have a microwave for guests to use, which is not very convenient.

The hotel is located right next to Lake Tekapo. You can walk to the lake in 2 minutes and the Shepherd's Church is 5 minutes' walk away. There are many free parking spaces outside the hotel.
