Staff rude and not helpful. Rooms are musty and people hanging around the property

I would absolutely warn people to stay away from this location. On 5/23 I booked a room around 11pm for the following night, 5/24. The confirmation email noted that if I needed to cancel, it had to be done by 6pm on 5/20, which is impossible but I didn't think much of it at the time. When I arrived I was told there was a $100 cash deposit for a non-smoking room. This was not mentioned on their website where I booked it at, nor in the confirmation email. I was caught off guard so I called the customer service number in the email. They claimed it was a location policy but couldn't explain why it hadn't been disclosed during booking. They couldn't do anything to modify the reservation, and told me it would have to be done by the front desk. This was starting to become too many red flags just to book a room. I spoke to the front desk about my concerns and asked about canceling the reservation. The man working the desk wouldn't cancel the reservation and couldn't assure me that I left, that I wouldn't be charged. I explained to him that I wasn't comfortable with the whole experience. The was no way I could stay there, especially with my child with me. I asked who I needed to speak to about not getting charged if I left. He told me that would be his manager, but that they were out of the country and unreachable. This was extremely disappointing, especially considering the good reviews. It makes one wonder if they are paying for positive reviews! In the end, this was easily the most sketchy and worst experience I've had trying to get a hotel room. We ended up going down the highway another mile and booked a room in a much safer area so it was probably a blessing in surprise.

A lot of what appeared to be extended stay workers present. Work boots and clothes all over the a/c units, by doors etc. There was a lot of in and out until the wee hours of the morning. They settled down or exhaustion took over, either way we finally slept. Rooms were remodeled and decent for the money. Though the air was heavily fragranced there was still a smell in the bathrooms that resembled cat urine.
