Best Western Plus Vermilion River Inn & Suites

On arrival the checkin desk was empty. I spent just over 15 minutes walking around the kitchens and stock room looking for staff. I shouted through to a room at the rear of the desk still no response. Just before I gave up a lady came to the desk. She apologised for being away from the post and said it was ok because she had been watching me on the CCTV whilst fixing a door handle. Why she hadn’t returned to her position as soon as she had seen me I do not know. Especially as there were other staff members working on the door handle with her. At the far end of the corridor there is a swimming pool area. The surrounding deck has a pool table and large dining table. The rooms next to this are all inhabited by Hispanic young men. On entering the pool area you are made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This is clearly their territory as they had a deep fat fryer set up within the common area.

Hotel was absolutely disgusting, loud, and unsafe for women. I don’t even know where to start! First off, there were a group of ***** playing basketball near the back of the building near our room all hours of the night. My wife went outside to get something out of the car and they asked what room she was staying in. Second, hotel stinks and looks like a prison, several doors looked as if they had been kicked in before. Lastly, the same ***** that were playing basketball all night were waking up and down the hallways all night being extremely loud. Only positive was the front desk associate was nice. Do not stay here as a woman.

Very clean! Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was excellent! I would stay again.

You can definitely tell this is a pretty old building but it is still not bad. Couldn’t get in our room until after 3, went and had a late lunch and it was ready when we got back. Had a few breakfast choices but it wasn’t kept up with very well. The few hot options were cold. Except for the make your own pancakes. They were good.

We had a very foul smelling room. Was the carpet soaked, mildewed then left to dry?There was also a constant leak between toilet and bathtub. And housekeeping was marginal - the coffee pot wasn't cleaned. All in all... not pleasant. The only good thing was that the bed was comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay there because the staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean
