Mountain View Hotel

Stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful small hotel in a scenic spot . Large room. Warm hospitality from the owner and staff. Very close to the famous beaches , 5 minutes by bike from the union resort. but far from the town's fuss. Food is average but is served with love :) the staff took care of taxis to the port, its a five minuted drive. best stay in La Digue. We'll be back!

The best and most unique hotel in our whole Seychelles stay. It’s the staff which sets it apart and the natural location. The staff made me smile everyday, especially Flavy, what a guy! And Fiona was so caring. It’s these people who make the hotel the wonderful place it is. Rooms are huge and stunning views over the mountains, you are on top the trees. I’ll always remember looking out over the balcony into the turrets and just seeing bats fly over. The room and entire were spotless. You can tell they take a lot of pride in this. Breakfast was made to order omelettes. Evening food was nice. You got to pick your choice off the set menu in the Morning. Bike hire was from hotel down the hill. Can walk to l’union estate in 15 mins and town centre in about 30 mins. Pool was amazing like infinity pool They tried to make the best of the space. Pool/beach towels ate provided by hotel. Taxis are approx 200scr from port she must be booked in advance. Disliked · Limited loungers by the pool (but they have made the best with what limited space they have). Breakfast was made to order but the food that it’s you help yourself to was always limited, but I’m sure would be topped up if requested do no problem. Take lots of big spray and cream as you are right in the forest and we got bitten a lot!! No real negatives as it was amazing.I just wish I had longer than 2 nights. Just wish I had longer.

The hotel is relatively inexpensive, so finally you get what you pay for. If you don’t expect too much, the price/quality ratio may be ok for you. Pros: Friendly staff in the restaurant, nice view, quiet location. Cons: The hotel is located on a steep slope, you have to push your bike up the hill for 150 meters in the heat, which is very difficult for an untrained person. The hotel is situated in the forest so you have all kinds of bugs in your room be prepared and bring a lot of bug spray. The breakfast is basic with small choice , the quality of the food is average, we didn’t have dinner at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the dinner. The hotel doesn’t provide beach towels at all, they don’t provide drinking water as well. When we checked in, there were bottles of water in the minibar and the lady clearly stated that we could get 1 free bottle per day, but when we checked out, all the bottles were included in the bill (3 times more expensive than water price in the store), to all our arguments, we were told that there was a misunderstanding and water wasn’t free of charge, honestly it looked more like a scam than a misunderstanding, be careful. Hotel pool is very small, only comfortable for 2-4 persons and doesn’t have places in the shade (no umbrellas). If you are staying at this hotel, I recommend taking bikes near the ferry, they are cheaper (100 rupees per day vs 150 at the hotel) and better condition. As of May 2024, extensive construction work is underway at the hotel (construction of a new building).
