Just a 50-minute drive from Kyoto Station. Takao is called Kyoto's inner parlor. This peaceful, old ryokan (Japanese-style hotel) is located across the suspension bridge. This ryokan offers plans without dinner, but asks guests to be aware that because of its remote location deep in the mountains, there are no restaurants in the surrounding area. The ryokan can later accept separate requests for meals; however initially booking the plan including breakfast and dinner is recommended as it is a better value.

酒店前面的吊橋很有氛圍感，酒店很古老，隔音有點聲音，不過整體還是可以的，我們定的沒有室內洗浴的，要到樓下的大浴堂洗澡，有點不方便，不過沒見過其他住客，感覺包場了，酒店準備的餐食還是不錯的（每天不一樣）

親子旅行（兩組家庭）評價：1.環境. 山邊吊橋很出片，其他沒有太多的景色，需要到周邊徒步享受慢時光；2.美食：超級喜歡熱食的烤魚，川床料理體驗感拉滿，料理冷食多，個人來自廣東對涼食和生食熱愛度有限； 3.日式體驗：入住發了日式浴衣，進餐很多人也換了衣服前往，儀式感還是很棒，也有日本小夥伴前往體驗；4.温泉：非自然温泉，如果是衝著感受温泉的，不推薦，主要是日式傳統的泡湯體驗，與温泉關係不大；5.硬件：比較舊。 建議：想體驗日式旅館的小夥伴可以沖，想天然温泉的不推薦。

I think it's a very good and unique experience, worth a visit. You should stay in a villa with a private bath. The environment in the mountains is very good and beautiful. If possible, it would be better to stay for a day or two.

I arrived after dark, so it was hard to find the place. It was a detached building, but the staff were always looking out for me and were very kind. The leaves had fallen, so I couldn't see the autumn leaves I was looking forward to, but I was soothed by the sound of the river babbling and the clear air.
The room was much better than the last time I stayed, but the food (shabu-shabu) had fewer dishes.

There is also a Japanese-style room with 2 adjoining rooms which is the closest guestroom to the river in the entire hotel.
This room has an open-air bath from which guests can look out on the Kiyotaki River, and from early June to early July, guests can enjoy seeing Japanese fireflies from their rooms and the open-air baths. After the hotel lights go out, enjoy watching the fireflies wondrously flying about
