Very good, good service

I booked two twin beds for two nights for over 5,000 yuan per night, but one was a tiny corner room, and the other was right next to a cemetery. We checked in a little after 6:00 PM. I planned to discuss this the next day, but when I did, they said I'd have to pay an extra 900 yuan if I didn't mention it. They never mentioned the cemetery placement and were evasive in every response, offering no explanation or apology. I tried to tell them it was their fault, saying I just wanted a standard room at my price, so why the extra charge? They then responded with an even more ridiculous explanation: "Due to cultural differences between Japan and China, they don't offer discounts." I was completely bummed and decided to just accept it; I chose the hotel myself. I finally reported the situation to Ctrip customer service, and thankfully, Mr. Liu was quick and efficient, understanding, and sympathetic. I was quite touched. In the end, Ctrip paid over 900 yuan for a room away from the cemetery. I was just furious that they let me have their way! I will never stay at this hotel again. The hotel is on a slope and it is very inconvenient to get around. Apart from taking a taxi, if you mind, avoid the pits. If you have any problems, they just don't answer.

Very worth staying

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain next to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, just a short walk from Kiyomizu-dori. The facilities are first-class, including a hot spring bath. The rooms are spacious, and the staff are very friendly. It has its own strengths compared to the Four Seasons hotels I've stayed at before in Kyoto.

Ms. Ohan's service was very attentive. The hotel facilities were new and the rooms were large. It was a pity that I didn't catch the Noh performance.
