The villa is very beautiful and peaceful. Stayed there for 12 nights with my boyfriend and we enjoyed the villa so much. All the staff are super friendly and ready to always assist to your satisfaction. The food is very tasty and always freshly made. They are not a five star villa for nothing, They deserve more stars ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is a very safe environment as well.

We zijn zondagavond 24 september vanuit een verschrikkelijke accommodatie waar we net waren aangekomen op zoek gegaan naar een ander verblijf. Na even zoeken vond mijn vrouw Albatros Ocean View. Wij appten met de manager en hij regelde dat de volgende ochtend om 9 uur een taxi klaar zou staan en onze kamer beschikbaar was. Om 10 uur in de ochtend arriveerden wij bij Albatros Ocean View en werden wij verwelkomd door de manager en konden wij nog genieten van een goed ontbijt met zicht op de oceaan. Het personeel van “Albatros” heeft ons een super mooie week aan zee bezorgd. Een speciaal dankjewel aan manager mr. Frank en vooral de bediening door Mozes en Peter zullen wij niet vergeten. Zoveel oprechte gastvrijheid en niets was de heren teveel. Of het nu door Peter en Mozes door henzelf georganiseerde etentjes op het strand waren of een speciaal menu betrof, alles kon en alles met veel toewijding en plezier. Het hotel was klein (18 kamers) en had een mooi zwembad en lag direct aan zee. De kamer was schoon, groot en netjes en voorzien van airco. Het eten was gewoon goed en lekker. Een enorme keuze aan betaalbare cocktails maakten het verblijf compleet. Je merkte aan het personeel dat het management betrokken en goed voor hun was. Ze gingen als een familie met elkaar om en zorgden ervoor dat het de gasten aan niets ontbrak. Helaas hebben wij na terugkomst vernomen dat het hotel door een andere investeerder is overgenomen en dat het personeel op zoek moet naar een nieuwe baan. Home a week and we miss this hotel so much. From the friendly staff who could never do enough to help to the relaxed and beautiful surroundings, I don’t know where to compliment first. The room - we were in a garden deluxe room in the new block, it was huge, comfortable and always kept immaculate. Air-con was perfect as we could set the temperature to just the right level. Bed was huge and very comfortable. The restaurants were great with a good selection of foods. Compliments to the chefs who produced great selections every day. Special shout out to the Bahari restaurant where the food and staff were always amazing. The bars were like little oasis, each with their own vibe and always with a smile and a welcome. The grounds are kept impeccably well and again, the ground staff always had a smile and a ‘jambo’. The trips were well organised, we only did the Stonetown and Prison Island trip but spoke with other guests who enjoyed some of the other excursions. The whole feel of this resort is to ensure that you are relaxed….it does this perfectly. There were always loungers somewhere, regardless of where we decided to stop and I can’t finish this review without commenting on the beautiful family of red colobus monkeys which lived on the resort. They do not pay any attention to guests but will sit next to you, or on you (as we witnessed) it is such a special sight to have these cute things living alongside you. There have been some negative comments about the beach, it is not just an expanse of white sand, there is seaweed grown and farmed by the local ladies and the tide goes out for miles and then comes right in so you can swim straight off the steps of the jetty. We found it amazing. Finally, there were no ‘beasties’, mosquitoes or anything else that might bite…this is possibly the first holiday ANYWHERE tropical we have been that we haven’t had some sort of bite. The guys on the beach don’t hassle you, they will say hello, ask where you’re from and offer to show you things or sell things but they are really friendly and understand if you want to be on your own. Oh…….and take a wee trip on the small wooden fishing boats that’s it just off the jetty, it was a wonderful experience sailing along the coast a little.

Staying at Hakuna Majiwe felt like finding a hidden slice of paradise, a real good value for money. It was made even more special by the incredible team that runs the place. I came here with my parents and my sister this summer, end of July approx. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine care that it felt like coming home. The staff here aren’t just doing their jobs—they’re truly passionate about making your stay unforgettable. Every interaction, from the friendly greetings in the morning to the thoughtful touches throughout the day, showed how much they genuinely care about their guests' experience. They cared a lot, helping with the suitcases, bringing the food to the room (room service), showing a service and type of staff seen nowhere but as in Hakuna Majiwe. What really stood out to me, though, was the food. Breakfast had a variety in worldwide and local food, which is thanked to try the flavors from Zanzibar. Every meal was a treat, bursting with fresh, local flavors, they tasted amazing, hats off to the chef, who even asked us if everything was good! The chefs clearly put their heart into every meal, and it shows. If we had to mention a downside, we would say that, as we kind of came in a time in which there were no guests, we missed a bit more of activity, animation at the hotel… Though, some new guests came the last 2 days we had there. Hakuna Majiwe isn’t just a hotel; it’s a place where you feel truly looked after, where every detail is taken care of so you can fully relax and enjoy your surroundings. The amazing staff, food and decoration made my stay here something I’ll always remember fondly! Thanks!!

Big thank you to the hotel team, Omar and co! The personal is very helpful, always smiling and kind. The garden suites doesn’t get air condition it is so important in the bed room, it was a nightmare for sleeping. No fridge also, water very hot each day. The beach has got a lot of algae but it was very quiet. We had only breakfast at hotel, thinking that we could eat near the hotel but nothing around, and the hotel did not propose a good price to have the half pension. It is better to take half pension before arriving there. Also please note that you will pay 5 usd per person and per night for tax on check-out, like a 5 stars hotel!!! Whereas Indigo beach is only a 3 stars hotel, it should be only 4 usd. The responsable of the hotel was not understandable.

Overall, very satisfied with our stay at the Blue Moon Resort. We stayed for 9 nights in the suite with a private pool on a full board basis. On the first day, we arrived at 8:00 am. It was indeed early, but we had to wait until 3:00 pm to be given our room. We were exhausted from a 20-hour trip, and it was frustrating that we couldn't get a room to rest. A hotel should be able to accommodate guests by noon, which is the norm. The website indicated a check-in time of 2:00 pm, but we had to wait an extra hour. For a supposedly luxurious room, it felt a bit outdated. The wardrobe was very small, with doors that didn't close properly (allowing insects to get inside) and not practical for storing long dresses that get wrinkled. The hotel really needs to implement a ventilation system; sometimes, there's an unpleasant smell in the room and the bathroom. Therefore, showering with salty water is really unpleasant. A full-length mirror and more light in the bedroom would also be nice to have... Besides these issues, the mattress is comfortable despite numerous comments suggesting it was a bit firm. The positives of the hotel: it's family-oriented and extremely peaceful. Ideal for those seeking relaxation and a private beach with fewer people. The restaurant is à la carte. The dishes are delicious, fresh, high-quality, and presented very meticulously, something rarely seen in a full board hotel. Hats off to the chefs! The only downside of the restaurant is the time. On average, it takes 1.5 to 2 hours sometimes to have a meal because of the time taken for ordering and preparing the dishes. It's not a big deal in the evening, but it's inconvenient at noon when one wants to make the most of their time. The music is perfect, classy, and not a discotheque atmosphere! (If that's what you're looking for, you should consider Nungwi's hotels). The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable. The staff is very attentive and truly cares about your comfort. We want to thank the waiters for their kindness and responsiveness, with a special thanks to Swahiba! We will probably come back.
