Kunming Wild Animal Park/The Golden Temple scenic spot | 0.51km from Jiayuan Gymnasium
Kunming, a city drenched in misty mountains and floral tides, always manages to weave poetic folds within its bustling atmosphere. Adjacent to the Panlong Expo Garden, the Mande Hotel, with "hiding in nature" as its anchor, integrates the bamboo and rattan essence and floral grace of Yunnan into the spatial details. Using simple materials and restrained colors, it weaves a narrative of dwelling that engages in a dialogue with the Spring City. The pale purple of jacaranda and the light red of camellia - the design of Mande Hotel in Kunming does not explicitly mention the word "Spring City", yet every texture is steeped in the soul of Kunming - that is the romantic whispers of misty mountains and flowers over a thousand years, the slowly formed spirit of plants in the hands of artisans, and more importantly, a survival aesthetic of the highland ancient city that is slow enough to hear the sound of flowers blooming. When Mande meets Kunming, we blend modernity, modernity and novelty in a sympathetic collision, unlocking urban surprises and bringing you a full immersion experience of Kunming.

I am a Chinese-American from California and invited my sisters travel along with me . We had a wonderful stay in this Home2 Hilton, panlong, Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is so clean, room service is available any time upon request, everyone is so nice with beautiful smiles always. We especially loved the breakfast, lots varieties, both Chinese style and western food, What impressed me most was that the employees in the restaurant are very warm and considerable. They know we love the flower pastry and even let us take out some on our last day there. I am grateful I stayed there and will come back next time.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel has a heavenly bed. The room was super clean which I appreciated a lot after long travels. The reception staff were sweet and friendly. They helped me to book a taxi from the hotel because their shuttle bus service stops at 2:30PM.
For travellers coming to Kunming from abroad note: bring cash RMB because you will need to pay the taxi, 40RMB two way ride. Taxi gives receipts. There is no public transportation such as bus or metro to the hotel area. Alternatively, you could download WeChat, didi applications. Unfortunately the hotel's wifi is weak and I was not able to download the apps. Otherwise enjoy a nice luxurious room with super comfy bed. Highly recommend the hotel.
GGuest UserCleanliness and aesthetics of the hotel are one of the best I have encountered in China. There are self laundry machines, a small gym and 24h front desk service. We are very impressed with our stay and will stay at their chain
GGuest UserThe hotel is situated on the floor between arrival and departure. Just walk out of customs, a quick ride in an elevator and you are at the check in counter. It was perfect as we arrived late in the night and had an early departure. No time wasted with haggling with taxis or figuring out public transport. Check in was fast, the room was clean and had everything we needed. It was also quiet, no noises from the airport. We slept well. Perfect!
DDuane JeffreyApart from the Wi-fi which was terrible for the entire duration of a week (doesn't make sense how this can't be solved very easily, especially if the hotel is making enough money being fully booked). Everything else was absolutely excellent! 👌🏻
The staff are beyond friendly, kind and helpful. They really go out of their way to help (except for making an effort to contact the WiFi providers).
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do a lot of my business by having access to printing facilities within the Hotel. The swimming pool is quite nice and the staff member was really friendly, giving me a swimming cap when I didn't have. They brought me towels and water to drink.
The hotel robot is always a great convenience when it comes to deliveries as it brings the delivery to your room.
Breakfast is pretty good just like any top hotel.
I usually repeat my stays here.
GGuest UserA very warm treasure hotel. Our family received souvenirs and welcome tea as soon as we arrived at the hotel, which was very ceremonial. Because there were not many tourists, the hotel seemed particularly secluded. Whether it was the private soup in the courtyard or the Pu'er tea, they were all of very high quality. The children enjoyed feeding the seagulls every day. The food was a little simple during the Spring Festival. A male waiter in the restaurant (forgot his name) was very enthusiastic. The green vegetables were all from the hotel's own vegetable garden, which was very natural. The back door of the hotel leads directly to Yangzonghai Shijiazui Park, and the scenery is invincible. In short, I was very satisfied. Thanks to the housekeeper for his meticulous service. Five-star praise. Recommended to travelers who like to relax and get close to nature.
GGuest UserThe beds were very comfy. However, the rooms were very old school and not that clean - not because cleaning hadn’t gone through but because the rooms have lived. The hotel is also 25m by foot from the station (10m by car)

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
GGythrieThe room is in a perfect location clean, with a cozy interior. The staff were very friendly and did their best to help us. However, a major disappointment was the lack of air conditioning. They explained it was due to the glass exterior, though we didn’t quite understand the reason. It felt very hot and suffocating, especially during this warm season. They did provide us with two fans, so we tried to compromise, appreciating their effort to accommodate us
GGuest UserThe boss is very nice, the room is very clean, and he patiently answered all the questions he asked. Transportation and meals are convenient, and I recommend staying here. If you are traveling to Kunming and going to Kunming South Railway Station, I recommend it. It is definitely worth the money.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
