Walking distance to green lake. Hotel reception provides baguette for free so that you can use it to feed the seagulls at green lake. Staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. They helped me to receive my taobao parcels and recommended places that I can visit, not just in kunming but for my next leg in dali as well. Super clean and spacious room. Love it.

Have nothing buy praise for the Holiday Inn. Location is amazing, especially if you want to use the Metro system that can take you anywhere in Kunming. They generously upgraded my room which was quite large and comfortable. Breakfast is quite delicious and has many options. They will also prepare different noodle soups if you like. So many options, really. The location is very central and if you walk around the area you can find anything you meed. Tha mall close by is stunningly modern. Kunming is very beautiful, and the Holiday Inn makes it ever more so. The staff, Mavis and Tina were very helpful and capable. Five stars.

The room is super big despite its price. Concierge is helpful in sending parcel and storing luggages. I book the hotel twice, on my first day and last day in Kunming. For the rest of the trip, I am in Lijiang. The hotel helpfully keeps all my luggages throughout my trip. The location is really good, only 5-10mins walk to Kunming train station.

Crown plaza brand hotels have always been good. However, a lot of things are wrong now. We stayed at this hotel and felt discomfort. It was very cold in the room. The air conditioner could not heat our hotel room. People go to breakfast in winter clothes because it is very cold there too and the food is not tasty as it always gets cold very quickly.

I think we have to keep in consideration that this is probably one of the more luxurious hotels in the city, also you get the prestige of staying within the skyscraper compound, the only skyscraper compound in the city. The hotel is literally next to a food street with LOCAL pricing and a large shopping mall with electrical appliances, a supermarket and lots of other local shoe and clothing brands within it. Not to mention there is an IMAX cinema! The room is large and the bed is super big (larger than king). The entire room is decorated with marble slabs, MBS level materials. Highly recommend you book the breakfast if you do not like or aren't that good with Chinese Breakie. The breakfast spread is pretty good, international and Chinese selection, canned drinks, bottled water. Try the yogurt machine's yogurt, pretty good. Special thanks to Receptionist Anna Ke for the special care during our stay and ultra special thanks to Lester for making the effort to help me receive my Taobao Shipments as I did not have a Chinese Number to facilitate the transaction process. Lester really went out of his way to help us out. Protip: If you are visiting and are looking for cheap souvenirs, tea, clothes, luggages and other essentials, I recommend you Visit Shuang Long Shopping center 双龙商城 (closes at 5pm) The souvenir prices at the old street are pretty much extortion levels after you visit Shuang Long.

The front desk customer.service lady staffs (ZhouYin) are very helpful and friendly. Always willingly to advice for any enquiries. 3 adults and 1 kids can occupied in a single family room with 1 king size and 1 single bed. They can even provided 4th person FOC breakfast without additional add-on bed. Room are very spacious and clean. Very satisfied for the e days stay. Thanks ZhouYin for the assistance.

The hotel is in a great location next to Green Lake, the rooms are bright and sunny, the service is great, and there are free desserts every night. The breakfast is also very good, with a wide variety and long dining time; the Chinese restaurant next door is themed on blue and white porcelain, the dishes are large, and the photos are also very good.

I spent the Spring Festival in Kunming this year and chose the Howard Johnson Hotel in Kunming for three nights and four days. Overall, it was very good. First, the location is more than 10 kilometers and more than 20 minutes away from the city center by car, which is relatively far, but it is not bad to take a taxi; second, the hotel facilities are relatively complete, and there are many people staying during the Spring Festival; the hotel itself has a large shopping mall, but there is not much to visit, and many are sold to group tourists staying in. There is a local cross-bridge rice noodle restaurant that has good reviews; third, the hotel is more suitable for family travel, and there is a large playground, which is very good for bringing young children; fourth, the hotel room type is relatively old, but the stay experience is not bad, the breakfast is also relatively rich, and there are some activities during holidays. The most praiseworthy thing is that the hotel service is particularly good. In general, it is worth recommending.

Very family friendly hotel, great service, beautiful scenarios and delicious breakfast. My kid enjoyed their swimming pools and garden area so much and kept mentioning them after we left. I should also mention that the photography package came along with the hotel reservation was such an excellent deal. Our photographer 梨子 from 恒壹旅拍 was super professional and patient with kids. We are really satisfied with the experience and enjoyed the beautiful photos we got to take home with.

I've stayed in dozens of ”5-star” hotels throughout China (inc. one in Hangzhou that was horrifying!); Kunming's Intercontinental is a TRUE 5-star hotel. The service, amenities, extensive grounds, and rooms are all top tier. The location is great for the West Lake scenic spot (other than that it's quite far from the city hubbub... to be expected when the hotel grounds require a fold-out map!). The dinner & breakfast were excellent (although all the fanciest dinner options were seafood, if that matters to you). Pay the little bit extra, stay at this hotel, you won't regret it.
