Whilst on a trip through Kerala we stopped at the Whispering Palm resort. The hotel is a high standard, set in beautiful grounds. The staff are all helpful and friendly. The hotel has a pool which has amazing views and is the best place to sit and relax as the sun goes down. The restaurant serves great food all freshly prepared. We would highly recommended this resort to stay at.

It's a decent and spacious property with nice view. However, the service was very laid back and lethargic. There was a pipe leak in the washroom and noone even bothered to get back to us even after complaining about it. We had to call them multiple times, and even if u ask for a laundry bag, they would give it to you after 20-25 mins.

It is a small and cute resort. The working level staff are very helpful. But the property and food are not up to the mark.
We stayed in room 117. The room is infested with ants. The walls have marks of seepage. The kettle is in a sorry state. The bath tub is unusable- the longer than needed curtain is so dirty in the lower part that taking shower is repulsive. The tub itself is flaking and there is no bath mat.
We tried the buffet dinner on 16th March. It was sorry experience. You get excellent 'APPAMS' all over Kerala, except in this place. They specialize in inedible appams and curd-rice ***** with unappetizing fare. The desserts were just terrible. The fruit custard was bitter. The fruit was inedible. I am surprised that they could find such low-grade pineapple in Kerala. Another pudding was just sugar and corn flour. Binu, the catering manager was rude. We went out for dinner on 17th, paying Rs 2000 for teh taxi, just to escape the inedible buffet.
There is no walking path where you could saunter even.
It is not a 4-star resort. I wonder how it is rated so. Perhaps because of eth swimming pool that we didn't use. Trying to forget teh experience.

Whispering Palms is well located and in a nice position directly overlooking the backwaters. It is a family friendly hotel with good amenities for children. Not really a couples destination as too noisy with so many children staying. Staff friendly but not super attentive.

This was our third stay at an Abad hotels and all have been good, which, like the Whispering Palms I have rated 4 stars. The hotel has a beautiful 'Kerala vibe', relaxed, great staff, efficient and friendly. The rooms here are lovely, spacious and unique although the woodwork is all rather tired. The food is ok but not amazing. The grounds are magnificent and the location is stunning. I would stay here again, especially as there is so much to do locally. One point I would like to make is that in all seven hotels we have stayed in, do not have toilet facilities for the tour drivers - these hotels all deal with tourists travelling around India, but drivers are not allowed in the hotel. I feel the hotels should provide a washroom.

The room lived up to expectations, the food left much to be desired. The room was well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities one would expect from a 4-star resort. The bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping everything spotless. It was a perfect space to unwind after a long day. However, the dining experience was underwhelming. The quality of the food was disappointing, falling short of the standards associated with a 4-star establishment. Breakfast, in particular, was a letdown. The spread was very basic, with limited variety that lacked creativity and options for different dietary preferences. It felt more like a budget offering rather than the lavish spread one might expect at a resort of this caliber. Overall, while the stay was comfortable thanks to the room and facilities, the dining experience detracted from what could have been a perfect getaway. I hope the management takes steps to improve the food quality and variety to match the resort’s otherwise high standards.

Ambience is good. Food is average. There was lizard droppings on upper end (face) of the bed, multiple times. This was totally unacceptable. Chances of getting dropped on face while sleeping. :((
If they can solve this issue, it is an Ok place for once.
