Family-friendly Hotels in Krakow

We recently stopped at the AC Hotel by Marriot Krakow for a three-day city break. Let’s talk about the positives first… The hotel is in a great location, it is not too far from the city centre but is on the outskirts, a few minutes’ walk from a large green recreational ground which was lovely. A Bolt (Somewhat a European version of Uber) was almost instantly available at the hotel, and we never waited more than four minutes. A Bolt cab into the city was approximately £2.50 which was great too. The hotel is clearly very new, and this shows with its modern design and use of LED ***** lights which look amazing at night-time. The reception area is modern, has free coffee machines (for use between 1000 hours and 1600 hours) and has a bar within, which again, is very nice. The spa was lovely and is included within the price of the room. We visited at approximately 0900 hours, and it was very quiet which was nice, at one point, we were the only people within the spa. Though, don’t allow looks to deceive you. There were some annoyances with the AC Hotel by Marriot Krakow, and I think it is important to raise them. Firstly, the hotel is next to a building site, which is not evident from the pictures of the hotel’s website or online listings. We paid for an upgraded room with a balcony so you can imagine the disappointment when we learnt it was overlooking a very loud and dusty building site – so much so that the balcony was unusable. Secondly, the AC. (Not the name, the air conditioning!). This hotel uses the AC controls which link in with the windows and doors to prevent loss of energy, which is all well and good when it works. Ours seemed to glitch out constantly and as such locked the AC in the off position. We rung reception after spending a few hours in unbearable heat to be told that there was nobody who could help in the evenings and that they’d send someone in the morning. Fine, so we went to bed only to be woken by someone an hour later who said that they had come to look at the AC. We got up whilst the lady, what can only be described as “faffed” with the AC and then shrugged her shoulders and left – without resolving the issue. Now, if we could have opened the window, or the balcony door, to solve the issue then it wouldn’t have been as much as a big deal, yet it was a trade off between unbearable heat or construction site noise and dust. Another annoyance is when we ordered room service. We telephoned down to the bar and asked if they sold “Sauvignon Blanc”. We were told that they did and that it was however much. I asked for two bottles, and they said that they’d send someone up with it. 45-minutes later, the first waitress arrived with a trolley, an ice bucket, two wine glasses and two bottles of Chardonnay. We explained that we had ordered Sauvignon Blanc and that we would be grateful if she wouldn’t mind swapping it for the correct wine. The hotel is the on the verge of old town, pretty far away. It's okay for business travel. I like it because the room is bigger comparing to other four star hotels in downtown.

I would highly recommend Niebieski Hotel to my friends and family. People who work in this hotel are welcoming, helpful and professional. All the emails with my questions regarding reservation were responded quickly. Rooms are spaciaus. The style of the rooms is very cozy (a lot of beutiful blue details). All meals in the Niebieski are very delicious. Spa treatments are very good. One of the most customer friendly places I ever visited.

Very good location hotel, next to the castle, you can walk to the old town, there is a bus station next to the hotel, 252 direct to the airport, 4.6 zloty about 30 minutes drive, 30 minutes walk to the central station. The rooms are large and the beds are very large and very clean. You have to bring your own kettle, slippers, toothbrushes, etc. Most hotels in Europe do not provide them. The service is good overall, but the locals in Krakow are relatively indifferent and psychologically prepared. The hotel is highly recommended. I will choose it again if I have a chance.

Early march this year we've been in Krakow and the hotel were we stayed is the Novotel Krakow City West. The room was spacious and very clean , the bed comfortable , air conditioning /heating (this time the AC worked as heating due to the outside temperatures) was working really well. The room had also a sofa bed - not needed for the 2 of us - but it was there in case it was needed. The bathroom was also very clean with a walk-in shower - so really nothing to complain from that perspective. Breakfast - very good choices in the morning - a lot polish and international choices were available - tasty and plenty. Parking lot is generous in size - if you arrive with your own car it should not be a problem to find a place to park. The Novo 2 (square) bar in the lobby had a good selection of drinks - so the options were there should feel like having a drink Also the restaurant with a good selection of Polish and international dishes - we've ate there too and nothing to complain with a very good price to quality ratio. Bar, restaurant and front desk staff very kind and helpful. Overall a very good hotel - from my perspective - if you are looking for a place to stay in Krakow I do recommend the Novotel Krakow City West.

I sorted through many hotel options in Krakow and didn't get the one I wanted because I reserved too late. Glad I did. This hotel is amazing. Close to the square yet quiet and very accessible to the good stuff. Easy check in, amazing rooms and front staff person was the best! Breakfast was good but we got there toward the end so things we picked over. Great coffee!

It’s simply ideal. The rooms spacious and modern with super air con shower and amenities. Staff helpful friendly and efficient Location spot on- it’s on the doorstep of the Jewish quarter, number 13 tram into the old town outside, on the airport side of town with £28 cab direct ( hello Cracow tours are perfect) and shops and amenities within moments walk. A wealth of bars and restaurants for every taste and budget. Breakfast is lovely, with a great polish continental and hot selection. Bean to cup coffee and the bar is lovely cocktails and drinks reasonable and delicious. Waiting staff in restaurant went out of their way to make helpful recommends for shops and future visits. Recommend the Wodka cafe towards Schindlers passage at the back of the hotel. It’s a cracking family or couples hotel and we would not hesitate to return. Did a tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau, and also Energylandia with hello Cracow and Cracow top tours respectively. Have reviewed them separately but this hotel location made a great day out even easier. What a city, what a hotel.

Fabulous hotel in an easy location to go sightseeing. Hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. The reception and the restaurant/bar is absolutely stunning! However the room we were in was very dated and basic and didn’t look like the ones in the photos we had hoped to get. We weren’t overly fussed as we spent most of our weekend outwith the room and just used it to rest our heads at the end of the night. We had a pleasant stay and overall good experience at The Atrium. You can walk to the Old Town and 15 minutes from the central bus and railway station. No slippers, no refrigerator. There is an iron. The most uncomfortable thing was that I gave a roof room on the fourth floor, so the ceiling of the room was too low, so I put my head on the ceiling four times during my two nights stay.

Lovely lovely hotel. However you need to be aware there are a lot of displaced families staying here which I am absolutely supportive of, but, the family near us had a dog and we were woken up 3 days in a row by a.dog barking for 1 hour whilst they were down for breakfast! So not the relaxing break we were hoping for. There was also parties both Friday and Saturday which were very noisy. It's a bit too far out of the centre. Easy to get a taxi and about £5-7 each way,but krakow is so cheap genuinely think you'd get an accommodation in the centre for equivalent of this hotel plus taxi each day.
