Sovereign Beach Hotel

Definitely not 4 star! Rooms need updating. Phones in room don’t work. Shower overflowed onto floor poor drainage. No coffee after midday, has to be paid for. Pool not open until 10am. No entertainment after show in evening. Credit to Carlo and Pakito though, above and beyond. Lights switched off on guests before bar closes. Snack bar (terrace bar) ran out of Gyros sometimes by 2pm when snack bar closes at 5 or 5.30. Private beach, very basic and very rocky and not private, anyone can use it, no security .. also hotel open all night, anyone can wander in. No food after 9.30pm considering All Inclusive. AirCon poor in room and not much cooler in main areas of hotel. Food has variety but mostly tasteless and we are not fussy eaters. Indoor pool which you have to pay to use by the hour. Some of the Reception staff helpful some not maybe because they don’t understand. Hotel is clean and aesthetically pleasing.

My holiday here was almost perfect, with the only drawback being no toilet facilities on the beach, although available at The Taverna nearby. However, having booked a room with a sea view, I was placed in a swim up bungalow with sea view which of course was delightful. My bed was very comfortable, a 1.5 litre bottle of water was supplied to my room every day with water available from the bar, restaurant and a water fountain all day, and my bathroom towels changed daily. The safe was also provided free of charge and the tea bags provided in the room were of good quality. I cannot fault one thing. The food was varied and delicious with quality fresh fruit and desserts and, provided you didn't turn up half an hour before the restaurant closed, everything was at a good temperature and quality. Sadly, I did witness a guest complaining that her cauliflower was cold and had arrived at the restaurant near closing time. The term "buffet restaurant" does get lost on some. However, this was dealt with by the Maitre D with high professionalism and efficiency. I don't know how she kept her cool! All the staff were friendly and quick to come to my assistance if needed, and used plates, etc were promptly cleared from my table. The bar staff at the pool and the main bar worked an excellent system to keep the queues down, which facilitated a fast service but still maintaining cheerful banter with the guests. I loved the salt water swimming pool which is a good size and had plenty of sunbeds available provided people didn't reserve for when they got back from their day trip or whatever. The hotel do request people not to do this but there will always be the few "entitled" guests. Perhaps the Sovereign Beach could do what some other hotels do and remove towels from sunbeds which have been unoccupied for a certain length of time in the morning so that the offenders have to do a walk of shame to recover their towels! All in all a jewel of a hotel which deserves to be in the top ratings. I had a perfect holiday. Thank you Sovereign Beach Hotel.

I am here at the moment have been for almost a week. We are staying in room 54 a swim up room in the main building. All I can say is wow. First time at the hotel and it won't be the last. We had a late arrival and sandwiches etc were waiting for us. The reception man was lovely and so welcoming. The room is amazing better than I imagined. Everything you need for the perfect holiday. The outside area has the comfiest sun loungers and a table with chairs. You have your own ladder to access the pool which is stunning. There is also a huge umbrella to hide from the sun.The sun stays above till around 4 which is great. Saying that we are spending most our time at the main pool because they have games etc all day long. The entertainment staff are fantastic and make you feel you've known them forever. The good is typical all inclusive but better either lots to choose from even for picky eaters. Ruchell is the most lovely waitress and always has a big welcoming smile there isn't a huge choice in drinks but we've not had a problem the cocktails are gorgeous. You do get plastic glasses round the pool which is expected for safety. You get a bottle of water everyday in your room which is fab. I don't usually go back to a hotel but I will definitely be coming back here. Came to celebrate my daughter's birthday and exams and the whole experience is magical. If I had to dig deep to find anything wrong it would be the shower doesn't drain well so you do have to put a towel there which I feel bad doing. EDIT: They came to our room straight away and fixed the problem The rooms are cleaned everyday which is lovely and done perfect. Thank you for making our stay so perfect and thank you to all the staff who work hard. No it's not a five star like we have at home but they never are but to us it's been a five star stay and I will recommend to others for sure.

We’ve just returned from a truly fabulous 9 days at this hotel. The staff were so friendly and everywhere very clean. The main buffet restaurant had a great choice and variety of dishes every day and there was also a pool bar that served crepes, ice cream and cake during the day as well as a beach bar that served burgers, gyros, souvlaki, chips etc for an additional snack if you were still hungry. We had two swim up bungalow rooms and they were definitely worth the extra money. We had a beautiful view, a good sized swimming pool and less than a minutes walk to the beach bar and actual beach. There’s varied activities and entertainment during the day and evening so should be something for everyone, we won the fun bingo one evening and received numerous prizes as well as a free jet ski session which proved very popular with my son! We walked into Kardamena for the evening several times, the walk takes about 20 mins and is all flat and right by the sea. There’s a great selection of bars, restaurants and shops in the town as well as a lovely harbour area. There is a free bus from the hotel twice a day into the town but we enjoyed the walk especially in the evening when the moon was coming up….and got great photo shots over the sea. Would throughly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of booking it.
