Akti Beach Club

We had a lovely week here at the beginning of October. We stayed in the adults only section with a shared pool. The room was quite small and dated and had a bit of a musty smell when we arrived like it had been shut up for some time. The shared pool area was a little bleak but it was nice to have a quiet space for sunbathing and a dip when we wanted it (although we didn’t get much sun there). We were very close to the inside bar and the adults only restaurant which we liked. The food was lovely and we really can’t complain about the quality, especially for all inclusive. We did find it quite strange that you have to book to eat in the main restaurant as if it’s a different hotel! The entertainment was very hit and miss throughout the week. The hotel is not near anything walking distance but the free bus in to Kardamena is a good way to get out and about, although we had trouble getting this as people just show up and push their way to the front. The drinks are all branded which is a nice perk in all inclusive hotels. The staff are very friendly and attentive in the adults only restaurant, this is not so much the case in the main reception. We had a lovely, relaxing week here and it looks as though it’s great for families, not sure we would revisit though. Overall, it’s a nice hotel, we have stayed in far better and we have stayed in far worse. And I always say, your worst day in Greece is better than a good day anywhere else!!

Staying here for a week at the end of October. I was a little nervous having read some reviews but there was no need. We arrived late on the evening to find our room had been upgraded to a room with a shared pool, this came with a mini bar that was replenished daily. The staff at this hotel are one of the friendliest I’ve experienced, from cleaners to restaurant staff, everyone said hello and went out their way to help. Some of the hotel is a little run down, and could do with a facelift, especially sun loungers need replacing, a lot of them were broken or uncomfortable. We never had an issue finding loungers around the pool or beach. If you visit in October though be aware that the pool is absolutely freezing, nearly unbearable. The sea was warmer!! There was a good selection of food in the restaurant, I’m a picky eater but always had plenty to choose, always Chinese noodles, rice and mini spring rolls, a variety of bbq meat, either ribs, kebabs or gyros each night. Then the usual selection of fish, vegetables, meat in sauces etc. Not to forget the freshly made pizza always available. Desserts weren’t the best, but the ice cream cone was always a winner. The snack bar by the beach was made to order, with burgers, hotdogs and chips available; the chips were lush! Plenty drinks to choose from, our favourites were the Rose wine, strawberry daiquiri, baileys and peach schnapps and lemonade. You can help yourself to soft drinks so I’d recommend taking your own thermos cups to refill. Obviously have to mention the brilliant animation team and the evening entertainment, great for kids and adults. There’s a little supermarket next door with some tourist bits, inflatables and snacks, it’s cheaper here than the hotel shop. We also got the shuttlebus into town one day and had a walk along the harbour, had brunch and went in the tourist shops that sell jewellery, momentos, bags etc. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Check-in was easy and despite arriving late at night was informed that I could use a restaurant as it was open 24/7. Taken to room on a golf cart. I was staying in the adult only section and in front of the room was a shared pool. Bedroom was fine. Air-conditioning worked well, internet wifi worked well. Bed was comfortable, shower was fine but had to go back to reception to get a key for the room safe. Why not tell guests about the safe key when they arrive? Food was good throughout my stay whether breakfast, snacks, lunch or dinner. The bar had a reasonable variety of drinks. Staff were polite and professional throughout the resort.....especially the guest relations manageress (namely Despina) and the waiters at restaurant in the adults only area. The beach is ok but don't expect fine golden sandy beaches. A more pebble and sand type beach. Wear water shoes. However it's no different from beaches throughout many Greek islands. There were plenty of sunbeds so that was not an issue. Likewise in the adult section of the resort, I had no trouble getting a sunbed. Plenty of swimming pools to choose from and if you want, the 'adult section only' guests can also use the family areas, whether for the bar or the restaurant. The evening entertainment was enjoyable and although everybody has their own preferences, there was nothing that I did not appreciate. Overall, I thought it was nice. More 4 star than 5 certainly but I enjoyed my stay. I would be happy to return....if the price was right!

This hotel is split into 2sections adult only and family .we stayed in adult only but could eat in the main restaurant as well as are own smaller one .food was plentiful and of a good quality great fish restaurant which was a la carte and bookable free once per stay .drinks were good some famous brands but mainly local but these were good as well .we had a shared pool and a lovely room with modern bathroom and excellent staff cleaning it every day .it really was exceptionally clean but to be honest the whole hotel was spotless.pool man cleaned the pools at 7 am and on windy days came back and redid if leaves were floating.wonderful holiday well done akti beach

Fab holiday. Ignore the snobby people moaning about this and that. It’s clean, food is decent, drinks are decent. If you think your gonna get a decent cocktail think again it’s not a cocktail bar. Animation team are amazing considering it was end of a long season, special mention to Maya, amazing girl.

We stayed for 10 nights in the summer. Booked with Jet2 and got a great price with free child place. A group of 9, in 3 different rooms. We arrived in the evening and check in was really quick and the lady on reception was very friendly. We were shown to the room by the porter and were pleased to have a room overlooking the quieter pool. Although during the evening there was noise due to the bar area being there too, however this did not bother us as we stayed out until it closed anyway. Our room was clean and spacious, with lovely sunset views. We stayed all inclusive. I found the meals were hit and miss but other members of my group really enjoyed them. The pizza maker were fantastic! The drink weren’t great and the soft drinks from the machine was always running out of gas so was just syrup and took a while to rectify, several times. The staff in the restaurant were all lovely and helpful. The manager and his team trimmed a table up for us when celebrating a 40th birthday and we got a cake. The restaurant in the evening was unbearable from the heat. Air con none existent and could clearly see the chefs struggling. The area is quite far away from everything else. Not really safe to walk in the evenings due to it being unlit. The beach wasn’t the best but once in the water it was fine. Although it is abit of a task getting in and out. We hired two pedalos but weren’t able to book in advance and got called in during the session due to winds but to be honest it wasn’t that windy. The beach bar does great snacks but the chefs attitude isn’t always that great. He can be very abrupt and we felt unable to order what we wanted. Like it was frowned upon to have two things, even though we were all inclusive. The quiet pool was lovely and my preferred pool but being in a group or 9 with kids we only went to this once. We spent our days around the animation pool which was nice enough but the music does get very loud. The entertainment team were fantastic. Especially Hedi. The pool bar with the gyros was lovely and the guys are really friendly. The evening entertainment wasn’t great and we did find ourselves quite bored some evenings. Some nights there was music on the speakers. Some live music in the bar area would be great because not everyone wants to go to the amphitheater shows. Overall a nice enough holiday but don’t think we’ll return.
