Booked this about 2 weeks before departure and was really worried regarding all the negative reviews and even contemplated either changing the booking or cancelling We’ve always said a holiday is what you make it and so long as facilities were clean We booked through Tui so already knew we had a superior room so no worries there but was concerned about the noise Arrived nearly midnight but check in was quick and were shown to our room and the guy carried our cases Breakfast is basic but sufficient There was fresh fruit every morning Greek yoghurt, pastries and cakes plus ham, cheese salami and tomatoes. There was a toaster and jam or honey etc and a coffee machine serving assortment of drinks plus a fruit juice machine We went to the pool the next morning and yes the sun beds were marked but once you put your towel down it’s fine There were a few weeds but not as bad as some claimed The bar opened at 10 ish til late but we never heard any noise I presume the rooms opposite the bar hear some noise during high season The bar prices are really reasonable and the food great The pool was very cold 🥶 that took my breath away so only ventured in twice There’s a little supermarket just down from hotel that is well stocked and on the main road a few restaurants in both directions €8 into Kos town via taxi or there is a bus but not sure of the times Overall we had a fantastic time with brilliant weather This hotel is family run and we were always greeted with a smile Don’t read the bad reviews as it’s nowhere as bad as they make out You get what you pay for so if you want 5star luxury then you have to pay for it We will definitely look at booking to stay here again next year

If you're looking for a budget-friendly stay in Kos with a lively atmosphere, Hotel Iris is a great choice. For the price, it's hard to beat. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though keep in mind you'll need to pay extra for air conditioning, which only works when you're in the room. The hotel has a fun, social vibe, with events like BBQ Mondays and great music at the bar, making it perfect for those looking to have a good time and meet other travelers. The staff are lovely and always ready to help, adding to the welcoming environment. Just outside the hotel, you'll find plenty of rental options, including bikes, quads, and scooters, and if you walk a little further, you'll often spot electric scooters for rent, which are common around Kos City, aswell as a supermarket just across the street. One thing to note: if you're after peace and quiet, this might not be the best option, as the hotel can get quite lively. However, if you're looking for a fun and social experience, Hotel Iris is a fantastic choice!

Had an amazing stay, all staff are friendly and happy to help you. Hotel is clean and spotless, bar and pool too The only issue was the room was a bit out dated but for the amount of time we were in the room it was all we needed. There is a side which has been updated and looked lovely Breakfast is continental and you can pay to have a cooked breakfast and the options was good On a Monday they entertained us with a greek night/BBQ night and that was lovely. We ate in the pool bar on a few nights which we were cooked some beautiful dishes. This is a holiday we wont forget, and it was lovely to have taken our 4 month on his first holiday here :) Thank you to the Iris Family

Absolutely gobsmacked by the poor poor state of the rooms . We stayed on floor two in a very small room 2 beds and a bathroom nothing else . No to no kettle sockets hanging from walls and the fixtures and fittings from pre 1980 . We did ask about a possible upgrade to the newer renovated rooms but the price quoted was ludicrous..NEVER EVER AGAIN

Awful run down place , desperately needs a refurbishment. Noisy , uncomfortable, never again . Do not book this hovel . The bathrooms are an absolute disgrace , I don’t understand why some people have given it a good rating,. Pool area needs weeding and stained dirty sun loungers need binning.

Basic but decent. A lovely 30min stroll into Kos town and a 5min walk to the beach. We spent most of our time down at the beach. More atmosphere during the day. It seems to be that if you’re not a returning family, your face doesn’t fit. We didn’t go to make friends but there is definitely a clique and at times, feels like your imposing. Staff aren’t particularly friendly, just get the job done. Extra bbq night was put on during our visit for a returning couple, who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. Wouldn’t have liked to have paid to attend this as I feel you would have been excluded. Our room was decent and comfortable. The bed linen and towels were not changed once while we were there. Breakfast was basic/ rustic, but did the job. My main gripe is, cats. Don’t go if you’re scared of cats. I’m terrified of them and some people feel the need to feed the feral little stragglers, increasing my stress levels. I’m was bitten by one at breakfast, while inside. I get that some people are cat lovers, and I would never see harm come to them, but please, has some decency and don’t feed them while you can see it causes distress to some people. I didn’t have one relaxing breakfast and spent most of the time drinking a coffee while dodging the cats. Most people have a fear of something and it’s not nice for them to have their fear increased by ignorance of others. On the whole, we had an amazing holiday. Some of the restaurants we visited in Kos town are amazing. Traditional Greek food at its finest. The architecture and history is great and you can spend the whole day enjoying it. We wouldn’t return to the Iris Hotel.

Currently at the Iris now trying to sleep at 12.30am listening to a mixture of Greek music, Venga boys, Tina Turner, macarena etc blasting out incredibly loud. We had the same on Monday evening too, apparently it is the BBQ night, this goes on until 3/4am. Not good!! Disrespectful to guests in the hotel and neighboring guests too. If we wanted to party until dawn we would have stayed in Kardamena I guess!? This is the second visit to this hotel, having been 5 years ago we had a brilliant time, but definitely won't be back. Very basic rooms too, unkempt gardens, staff lackluster and Nothing about them. One to avoid Plus size, location nice for Kos town about a 20 minute walk with tavernas a long the way

We stayed in a first floor room. It was very nice and was like the photos shown. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice however the shower did wet the floor after every use. The staff at the hotel were always very nice. The breakfast included did not have great options but the bar at the pool had cheap breakfast options and lovely drinks. The pool is quite deep. The supermarket down the road is very handy and the staff in there are so lovely. It’s a bit of a walk from Kos Town but we didn’t mind it as it was a nice walk. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
