I stayed in a room called Kajitsuan Kiri. It was a small inn, but the rooms were spacious and clean, and there was an open-air hot spring bath on the veranda. The dinner and breakfast were both substantial and delicious, and in terms of food I preferred it to the Sierra Resort Hakuba the day before. In Japan, I feel that smaller, established inns are often superior to larger, high-end hotels. The next morning, I walked up the slope in front of the inn to Suganodai Bus Center, the base for Senjojiki Cirque. It was a convenient 5-minute drive. As it is a popular inn, I think it is necessary to make a reservation by phone in advance.
