upon arrival at fabhotels pavilion at 2:40 am on 11th february, i was denied check-in.
i was informed that my booking had been transferred to a lower-category hotel (without prior notification or consent).
i was forced to move to this alternative property at my own cost due to the late hour and lack of other options.
delay in resolution & forced stay: immediately after check-in (around 4:30-5 am), i lodged a complaint and spoke.
i was assured that my issue would be addressed by 10 am, yet no action was taken.
throughout the day, i made multiple follow-ups, explaining the situation repeatedly to different representatives, yet i was continuously told to "wait for an update."
at 4 pm, i was finally informed that fabhotels had approved a refund for only three days, claiming that i had "stayed" until 4 pm.
however, i was repeatedly advised to wait and not check out until further instructions, meaning i was effectively forced to remain there while awaiting a resolution. so the deduction of two nights is unjustified.
incorrect refund calculation: the refund was calculated based on the rate of fabhotels pavilion, even though i never stayed there. i was placed in an inferior, non-star-rated hotel with significantly lower pricing and unhygienic conditions. the amount refunded was determined using the formula: this calculation is flawed because it uses the pavilion rate instead of the actual rate of the hotel where i was forced to stay. the correct approach should be to calculate the refund using the per-night rate of the alternate hotel, not the original booking. compensation for additional expenses & unfulfilled voucher: after checking out at 5 pm on 11th february, i booked ethnotel at my own expense. mr. satya das provided a ₹1,800 voucher, but it was entirely useless as i was able to use a different random discount code for my new booking and get a discount more than that.
i requested that this amount be credited to my wallet as compensation, but this has not been processed, nor have i received any update.
expected resolution: given the significant inconvenience, stress, and additional costs incurred due to mismanagement, i expect the following: full refund for the second night, unfairly deducted due to delay in resolving the issue.
recalculation of my refund based on the actual hotel rate where i was forced to stay.
any compensation for the additional ₹18,595 spent on alternative accommodation.
credit of ₹1,800 to my wallet, as the voucher was not useful.
this is not just about money; it is about the unacceptable experience i faced despite booking and paying in advance. i look forward to your prompt response. best regards, baharam roy
