Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa, Kolkata

We booked 3 cottages for a family outing at Ibiza between April 25-27. The booking was taken directly by the Manager Mr Sanjay. We were told that part of the main building is under renovation as the property has been taken up by the Taj group. We were assured that the greater expanse of the property with the walkway, water body with peddle boats, the lawns and amenities like pool, play area for kids etc were perfectly functional and the renovation area comprising only the main building would not interfere with the cottage section we were booked for. However, it was exactly the opposite! The place is a construction site with piles of concrete n iron everywhere, zillions of workers going about the chores n constant hammering-drilling sound. The pool is a mess with dirty moss laden water with frogs enjoying the murky stench. The water bodies housing the peddle boats are not maintained and covered with outgrown weeds. Walking in the lawn or whatever is left of the open area invites stares and occassion hooting from the working groups. Every bit of the area is covered with dust and dirt with even the cottages we managed to stay in were badly compromised version of their previous glory. The staff happened to mention that the cottages will be taken up for renovation to serve as Spas later so minimal maintenance is currently planned around them. However, they still continue to book n host guests in those cottages to keep income coming in amidst massive construction upheaval! Breakfast remains only bread-egg or poori bhaaji every day and ala carte menu a mere option of 5-6 items to order from. When we spoke to the Manager about the deplorable state of things n why they are still taking booking for guests under these circumstances, he was rude and defensive and thereafter, if we happened to meet him face to face again, Mr Sanjay would see through us and ignore with outright arrogance. No explanation, no basic courtesies! The place is getting a comple facelift and may be back with bigger promises someday but the question is why continue to book guests under these circumstances at all and make false promises?

A peaceful and perfect vacation spent , we had lot of fun and enjoyed food with best quality, thanks to zaffar sir for the cake . For family best place to visit , near from Kolkata and kids can have lot of activities in the resort 🚕🚕🚕🚕🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬

Greenery, swimming pool, etc is good, but rooms are not upto the mark.... No luggage stand, some rooms are very tiny. Bathrooms are very small, no tap, no hand shower, over head shower water is slow of poor quality, toilet flush is placed in such a place, where they put hand towels, hand fauset water out flow is also poor.

The overall stay was a little bit OK. But to mention the staycation was not at all satisfactory. The property did not have WiFi and even in the room the WiFi was weak and was very difficult to connect. Also, the speed was very slow not expected by such a premium property. We had taken the staycation package which had breakfast, lunch, dinner and a welcome drink included. We did not get any welcome drink at all. The food quality was good but the menu was same mostly both the days, a few items changed here and there. Same also for lunch and dinner. Everything was chargeable if you order from Room Dine In service numbers. They charged us for water even. Two bottles of water (20 INR) each costed some 200+. Another factor, there were frequent power cuts and the air conditioning in the room always ran into error. Even informing the reception the problem was not solved at all. Also, from a pricing perspective the property charged a premium which was higher than 5 star properties. I had stayed in Hyatt in Delhi at the start of the month, but it was still less. In short, if you do not have any other option then you can go for this. Also, food is satisfactory so for a day outing this is ok. Please note that property charges a premium but do not provide services as a 3 star property also.

Trip at Ibiza was great. Mr Aftab at the dinning made us comfortable and his team made everything perfect for us. Aftab is a great asset to the fern resorts. The ambience was excellent and stay was good.........,..........................

HI i would love to share my feedback of my stay specially I am so much gratefull and happy with all of your staffs hospitaly and attentiveness towards guests and they are always ready to help us and serve us better .. Food- lunch and dinner both were great had so much options for both veg and non vegetarians we loved the dishes they tastes yuuumm activites- so much to do in this resort and the resort will never make you feel bore you will be missing some of the activities as so much cant be completed in 1 night stay room- we opted for the basic category of rooms which were situated in the nirvana building the rooms were quite shabby not maintained that the only minus point I have found out but the service over their were 10/10 whenever we had to come to the main buinding every time the golfcart would carry us … never we had to walk
