Stardust Village Hossho

I found this place by searching for places near Kokonoe Forest Park Ski Resort. It seems that yakiniku is prohibited, but there was no prior information, and there was an ashtray, so it didn't seem like it was a non-smoking area, so I had the "Garlic Motsunabe" that I brought with me for dinner. There is an induction stove, but there are no pots or dishes, so I brought an electric grill pot from home. I had made a reservation in advance for a family bath, so I went into the open-air bath as soon as I arrived. The open-air bath in the middle of winter at -4℃, where even a snowman wouldn't melt, was blue and clear, and it was amazing. There was a bed, but I decided to lay my futon on the tatami mat and sleep soundly. I had a breakfast of 7-herb rice porridge with motsunabe soup, and headed to the ski resort first thing in the morning, so I was grateful for the "discount plan for use until 9:00".

On the first day, we climbed Mt. Kuroiwa, Mt. Kamisuizumi, and Mt. Shimosuizumi, and on the second day, we stayed at a condominium type (deluxe apartment) near Chojabaru for two nights to climb Mt. Mimata. The detached villa type cottages in other areas are a little more expensive. The dinners at the inns and hotels were too much for me to eat, so I booked this place where I could stay with just breakfast. For this area and Kuju Kogen, 25,200 yen for two people with just breakfast for two nights is on the cheap side. I found out from the website that a hamburger steak set and a duck hotpot set could be reserved for dinner for 3,300 yen per person, and since the amount didn't seem to be much, I made a separate reservation. The food was delicious. The accommodation plan seems to change depending on the season. The front desk is in the management building at the entrance to the parking lot. There is a shop and a breakfast venue in this building, but they are not large. There are four rooms per block, and the room I used, Room 102, was the closest to the management building. Many people used the second floor, but there is no elevator, and you have to carry your own luggage, so it is difficult if you have a heavy bag. There was a shoebox at the entrance, and Crocs for going to the hot springs. The living room and dining room were reasonably spacious and had a reception set. There was a refrigerator, electric kettle, and induction stove, but the microwave was only in the management building. The washing machine was only in the cottage type. I don't know if it was because of COVID, but there were no cooking utensils or tableware. So basically, I think it's impossible to cook for yourself. There were no cups, so I got extra paper cups from the front desk. For breakfast, a buffet was lined up in front of the front desk of the management building. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become common to wear nylon gloves when eating, but gloves were not provided, and hand sanitizer was in an inconspicuous place and no one used it. Well, you won't get infected just by touching it, but it may be difficult for people who are anxious. I always carry disinfectant wet wipes with me, so I used that instead just in case. The room was small, so it was crowded for a while after the start at 7:30. Perhaps due to the influence of COVID, only our family ate there. Other people put it in a lunch box and took it back to their room. Since we were leaving early in the morning on the second day, we couldn't have breakfast here, so we bought it at a convenience store on the way. I also brought some ready-made rice for emergencies and made rice balls in the morning for lunch during the climb. I made a reservation for dinner online and specified the time, but it was confirmed at check-in. It was delivered to the room at the specified time. The system is to wash the used dishes lightly and return them at check-out. You need to separate your garbage, but there was no need to take it to the garbage collection site as written in previous reviews. Next to the living room is a Western-style tatami room, and there was a futon in the closet, so it seemed like it could accommodate up to 5 to 6 people. The bedroom is on the parking lot side and is equipped with two single beds, a dressing table, and a closet with a door. Since it is not a hotel, there are no room clothes or pajamas. Next to the sink is the toilet, and there is a separate bathroom. There is a balcony, so I was able to sit in a chair and watch the total ***** eclipse. I was also surprised that smoking is allowed throughout the building, which is rare these days, but it was helpful for me as I am a smoker. I was glad that the room did not smell because I could smoke on the balcony. The room did not smell of cigarettes at all, but there were burnt spots on the carpet on the floor, so if there are a lot of people smoking inside, some rooms may smell bad. To get to the hot spring, go down the corridor on the premises, and then go down the stairs from where the vending machines are located to the basement. There are baths for men and women, as well as two private baths. The private rooms are time-specified and can be used for free if you make a reservation at the front desk. There are two washing areas, and the bathtub is not that big, but I wanted to take a relaxing bath after hiking, so I made a reservation and used it both days for my wife and I. The open-air bath is located at the very back of the corridor and is quite large. Both corridors are outside, so it may be a bit inconvenient to go back and forth during rainy or cold seasons. The Wi-Fi environment was good. Overall, I was very satisfied with the spaciousness for this price, and just being able to spend time like I was living there.
