To begin with, let's not kid ourselves, the hotel is heavenly at first glance: the pool is large and great, the suites are beautiful, the Lamai neighborhood is nice and not far from everything by Grab. However, here are several points to be aware of:
On the first day, the air conditioning in my room was broken, I had to change rooms at 10 p.m. I changed immediately, the view is not as nice, and most of the curtains are broken (impossible to close even though they overlook the bathroom where I can see him undressing to take a shower), so it takes away my privacy.
Also, the beach isn't the most beautiful, but Crystal Bay and Silver Beach are a 10-minute walk away, which are very pretty!
Then, you have to be careful because each restaurant order has a 7% tax on top of the price of the meal. It's quite expensive and not necessarily delicious. I recommend the Lamai Night Market in the evening, for example, or eating local food for less than €2. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and always finds solutions (I was offered a late checkout when I mentioned my curtains were broken). The price is quite reasonable, but expensive for the island, but the setting is worth it. However, it's not exactly as good as a 5-star hotel in France, but that's good because I'm in Thailand!
I recommend the hotel, but don't be surprised if there are some surprising details; those are the joys of the country.

The Lamai is a beautiful hotel located on Lamai Beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel features beautiful architecture and comfterable rooms.

Absolutely fantastic hotel, by far our favorite on Lamai Beach. The complex is beautiful and quiet, the rooms are spacious with everything you could wish for. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is half outside and well-kept. Cozy private veranda to linger on. Great pool and nice beach. Breakfast was perfect with changing dishes and even iced coffee at your table. The cocktails on the pier at sunset were delicious, we also treated ourselves to the seafood dinner for two and were not disappointed. The entire service team is motivated and very friendly! The beach is particularly beautiful here as it is slightly protected by a reef - also nice for a walk! Insider tip for eating out outside: Kawins Kitchen! Never had such a delicious meal - we were there 4 days in a row! Will definitely come back!! Parking spaces, even with valet parking, are available.
