Stayed three nights at the Silver Beach Resort.
Area: there are only a few hotels on the beach, so it gets very busy during the day but is quiet in the evenings once the day visitors leave. The resort itself was very quiet and peaceful in the evenings, which was lovely. Though if you're travelling to Koh Samui for the nightlife then this isn't the resort for you!
Staff: were very helpful and responsive (there was a problem with the light in my room; I mentioned it to reception & it was fixed within an hour).
Food: in the restaurant attached to the resort was good. Breakfast is a choice of English/American/Thai set menus, or you can assemble your own by ordering individual items. There's a decent selection of things to choose. In the evenings the restaurant shuts at 7pm, but there are a couple of other options a short walk along the beach.
The beach itself was very clean; once or twice I saw staff out there v early in the morning litter-picking and tidying.
Had a lovely stay, would definitely come back here.

We took the deluxe with breakfasts but even though we had them paid for, just didn't go for them because they were terrible The quality of room cleaning is also at the lowest level, we were there for 3 weeks and had to have a stern talk with the hotel management to start cleaning more or less well At the same time the management tried to attack, saying that all the guests like it, and only we are complaining about the breakfasts and the cleaning. And they tried to do this until I invited them to the room and they saw for ourselves that the quality of cleaning was terrible. In general I do not recommend this hotel in any case, although it has a number of pluses - a beautiful lagoon and the opportunity to do massage right on the beach overlooking the sea.

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I realized how unfriendly the staff was, especially the lady who runs it, I don't know if she's the owner... I would have preferred to leave, but given the balance already paid, I would have lost everything! After a long journey, I finally arrived at the hotel, I just wanted to put down my bags and relax... I checked in at 7:30 pm and my idea was to take a dip in the pool... the lady looked at me askance, looked at her watch and told me that the pool closed at 8 pm, so very annoyed, she told me that I would have taken a dip in the pool tomorrow morning!!! There are rules, given by the hotel, I respect them, but those who manage must also respect them!!!! I take my dip anyway and as per the rules I leave the pool at 7:55 pm! I went to my room, there were some things that weren't right and I went down to reception to report them. There is a security guy, who not knowing how to handle the situation, calls the lady, who I think lives in the next door, comes out all annoyed saying: tomorrow morning at 7 the maintenance man is coming! I will surely wake up at dawn for this! But please!!! Luckily no one showed up... The next day I go to the reception to rent a scooter, the lady does not even deign to say hello and from her air-conditioned station, she has the employee outside act as an intermediary through the glass... They take out some papers and make her sign: clearly not being an inexperienced person, I ask questions about the insurance, precisely 2!!!!! The lady, still annoyed, makes the employee tell me: too many questions, go rent it somewhere else! With this I have nothing else to add, rudeness is probably a strong point of this Hotel, but I was unable to grasp this important detail!
