Amber Sands Beach Resort

Beautiful bungalows in very well kept pretty gardens. Extremely comfy beds pillows and bedding. Simon the owner is very friendly and helpful with trips and tours. Ning is an amazing cook, we had some of our best breakfasts and meals here, out of our 3 week trip in Thailand. The complimentary toiletries smelt lovely. This is the prettiest and most relaxing side of the island, we definitely thought that this was the better side of the island. Although we did have a car, so we could go and explore. Thank you to all of the team for making sure that we had a perfect stay with yourselves. I would definitely come back to Amber Sands again

Simon and his team have a place that will tick the boxes if you want a spacious, comfortable room; good shower in modern bathroom; big comfortable bed and nice bedding, lovely outlook onto quiet little beach and bay when eating or at the pool; pretty, well-kept gardens ;great food; super customer care and tips; fridge and kettle (with nice cups!); free kayak use; white kittens on the beach(!) And friendly dogs ...just lovely for peace (your fellow visitors-depending, as with any hotel.) We were really impressed by this place - the friendly chats and tips with an owner really make the difference. Well done, Simon. The East side of the island was the right choice for us but if you like a lot of people, loud bars, shops etc, then stay at White Sands. Or have a bike and enjoy both! Highly recommending Amber Sands!

This place is unique, could not be better! We are spending here nine nights, today ist our third day here and I can say that we have found the paradise on earth: Amber Sands only has got 8 units, therefore it is very peaceful and quiet. Simon and his family care for their guests all day: Simon books your transfers, snorkelling trips, motor byces or cars and gives you a ride in his car to the next town if you like. His wife ist responsible for the delicious meals. All staff is very kind and helpful. Everything is very clean, the rooms very nice and cosy. There also ist a little pool in the middle of the site with enough shadow everywhere. Tomorrow we will have an oil massage in the beach. It is the second time staying in Amber Sands, hopefully we come back once!

Thank you so much Simon, Ning, Artie and the team, we had the most wonderful stay. Whilst the windy weather didn't play ball for a stretch out on the beach, the accommodation and fantastic family service made our time here truly memorable. Simon couldn't have done more for us as a host and Ning's cooking is to die for, truly scrumptious. We will definitely be making a return trip as long as my review doesn't make you too popular!! A real jewel in the crown of the best Island in Thailand.

Stayed here for a week end March, beginning of April 2024. We had 2 room family bungalow with 3 single beds for our children and a large double for us. We are a family with 12, 10 and 2 year old kids. We all enjoyed our time here. All of the rooms face the pool / beach and are well located. Stunning resort and fairly remote but it was just what we all needed to chill out. In the main dining area there is a little zone where there are sofas and baskets full of children’s toys which kept them all entertained. Simon and Ning are great hosts and the food is amazing and plentiful, lots of choices and good size portions. Also good cocktails and a happy hour every day, buy one get one free. They have a son who is 4 so our children enjoyed playing and spending time with him too. Gita and Ping are also very kind and great part of the team. Kids especially loved the watermelon and coconut shakes which was a daily fix. The pool area is well kept and the massage lady was fantastic the best I’ve ever had. There are kayaks, boats and paddles free to use, our kids did use these almost daily. In walking distance you can take a stroll for a few minutes to the neighbouring resort called serenity if you want a change of scenery. We did this a couple of evenings. We took a trip to a local elephant sanctuary which Simon kindly took us there and back, around 15 mins. It was nice and we went to the river with the elephants to give them a wash. Great experience for us and our children. Simon also arranged us a vehicle for 2 days so we could drive around and tour the island. The west side of the island is very quiet and mainly locals we did a boat trip around the mangroves. The east side is very busy compared to the west side, we visited white sands beach and saw the fire show and the night food market. We also went to lonely beach and saw monkeys hanging from the trees close by. This is a wonderful beach ran by a Thai family for food, drinks and massage. The sea was calm and shallow and ourselves and the kids did enjoy the time we spent here. Overall Amber Sands is a lovely, peaceful resort with good hosts, lovely food and drinks. Would return another time and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Simon and team for a memorable stay 😎😊
