Ballard Bungalow

A walk in historic Fort Kochi left us at the gate of Ballard Heritage Bungalow. We wandered in, met Markose, the easy-going on the surface but hard working behind the scenes manager. Each of the rooms is distinctly historical, well-maintained, extremely spacious, and clean with high quality bedding. I really appreciated the distinctive heritage feel, not gentrified, but fully intact. Markose was friendly, always available to share his ample knowledge of Fort Kochi and makes great coffee to boot. Genuine colonial chaise lounges offer a relaxing view of the courtyard. This place is a real hidden gem.

Rooms were spacious, food was so tasty. Above all, markose was an excellent host, he is always on toes to fill every demand. He helped to plan n execute our itinerary, arranged tickets-taxi-everything. Very warm n homely stay. We enjoyed our 2-day stay very much

Clean and hygienic but an issue mosquitoes bites in day and night. Use mosquito spray or a plug-in device that keeps them away.

An excellent location. Small cosy and comfortable, the staff is very warm and friendly. Rooms are comfortable though basic, sheets and towels and toilets are clean. We really enjoyed our stay, all the sights and eating joints are in walking distance. Taxis and autos are easily available, and the ferries to vypin and ernakulam too are close by.

Location is very good. All eateries are nearby, ferry is also walking distance. Our host markose was superb, provided delicious meals in a very budget rate. Homely feeling all over
