Family-friendly Hotels in Koh Lanta

We spent 11 night here with my husband and 9-year-old son, and we all really loved the place! We stayed at the Pond room, and even had a partly sea view. I highly recommend booking Pond room instead of little cheaper Deluxe room. Pond rooms are all close to the pool and other services, whereas Deluxe rooms can be really high up the hill. We are not afraid of hills or steps, but even for us climbing all the way up felt quite exhausting (we did this once). Good: - The room was always clean and with good amenities. - Nice pool area(s) - Thaiboxing facilities a nice extra - Really good breakfast with anything you can ask for. Cappuccino etc. can be ordered (free). - You can walk (15min?) to nearby beach with many restaurants (you do need some adventurous mindset and a good flash light in the evening, though). You just need to locate the small wooden bridge and ignore the gaps :D - Nice restaurants short drive away (Coco Tango our absolute favorite with stunning view at sunset), drivers always flocking outside the resort gate. - Also some casual restaurants on walking distance and even right across the gate. - The spa was divine (though really, really expensive on Thai standards - one hour massage was something like 50 € with the happy hour discounts 😅) Not so good: - The bed is HARD. I mean _really_ hard. I was really surprised to find the bed to be such poor quality in a five star resort. I was sore the whole stay as it was impossible to sleep nicely. Even though I loved the place, this is the reason I would not return --＞ So, if someone at the hotel is reading this, please do invest in softer mattresses! (or even soft mattress topper) Good to know: - The monkeys invaded the resort area few days before we left. The staff did their best to keep them out, but still we had few encounters with aggressive monkeys, one of them even flashing teeth and rushing towards our son. I know, we're in the tropics and this could happen, but just to let you know to be cautious. - Some places were a little worn out (e.g. our terrace wooding was partly falling apart), so if you are looking for shiny and new, you might find these small flaws disturbing (we didn't mind). - Prices for food and drink are high (as one can expect in a five star place). - It is quite far away from Saladan, which is good to know if you for example dive (boats leave from Saladan, but dive shops do arrange the transportation, you'll just be the first and the earliest to be picked up) All in all, I do recommend this place, I just hope they would fix the bedding. It was really uncomfortable even on thai standards (we have been staying in much cheaper places with decent mattresses). Luckily there was heavenly spa that helped with the aching muscles 😜

Very satisfied check-in experience. After arriving at the store, I added 100 RMB a day to upgrade the room type. The room was very big, and I didn't allow an extra bed if I brought a baby, but in addition to the double bed, there was one bed that was enough for an adult to sleep. We used it for stacking things. Air conditioners, electric kettles, hair dryers, umbrellas, hangers are all available, and the separate toilets are also large, with wet and dry partitions. The shower water is not very hot, but compared to the hot weather, it can’t use very hot water. There is a small terrace outside each room where you can dry clothes and drink tea. Although the hotel is not big, the environment is good and quiet. The room faces the swimming pool and the swimming pool faces the sea. The beach is much better than the one in Krabi. You can go barefoot. The sunset by the sea is beautiful. The hotel staff has a very good attitude, breakfast is not rich but full, small hotel suitable for vacation and leisure, nearby 711 convenience stores, pharmacies, restaurants, fruit stalls, night market barbecues, and reservations at sea are very convenient. If you are bringing a child on Lanta Island, it is recommended to live in the northern part of the island, which is more convenient for transportation and supporting facilities. The southern part of the island is indeed a bit deserted and it is not very convenient for shopping.

My family, including two toddlers, recently spent two weeks at Southern Lanta, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. We opted for the sunset villa, which was definitely worth the extra expense compared to the family bungalows we initially considered. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the rooms were consistently clean (kudos to the diligent cleaners), and the pools provided ample entertainment for the kids. The proximity to the excellent beach, just a stone's throw away, was a definite highlight. Moreover, the location was ideal, with numerous restaurants within walking distance offering delicious food (with the exception of the pizza). A special mention goes to the staff who went above and beyond when we realized we had booked the wrong dates. Despite being fully booked, they managed to accommodate us, which we greatly appreciated. The atmosphere at Southern Lanta was perfect for families like ours, and we had the pleasure of meeting and befriending many other like-minded families. I would highly recommend this place to families with young children, although those without kids or with older children MIGHT want to consider their options. However, for this to be a perfect rating from me, there is one area that could use improvement - the gym. The facilities were subpar. The treadmills were inadequate for anyone weighing over 75kg and wanting to exceed 9 km/h, and the overall equipment quality left much to be desired. Additionally, the air conditioning in the gym was ineffective, making workouts uncomfortable. With some limited investments and minor effort, the gym could be significantly improved. Despite these minor flaws, our stay at Southern Lanta was overwhelmingly positive, and we would gladly return in the future (at least for as long as our kids are young).

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 2 children. On arrival we were shown to a room that smelt strongly of mould and mildew. The lady on the front desk who appeared to be the manager was extremely rude and demanded that we pay extra money in order to change to a room that did not smell. Our new room had heaps of ants but we just put up with it. The breakfast is cooked to order western food. The breakfast was very ordinary. I chose a waffle on the first day but it arrived all dried out and shrivelled up. My kids chose croissants and they arrived soggy and covered in oil so from then on we stuck with boiled eggs and toast as it is hard to get that wrong. They don’t seem to put a lot of effort into cleaning the rooms. Most days we would just come back to clean towels and water sitting outside our room. The only good things about our stay were the nice clean pool and the location of the hotel being a 2 minute walk from seven 11. We stayed at the hotel in April and it was close to empty.

This is such a nice place, quiet, close and close to nature. The beach nearby, we take a morning walk there every day. The villa is larger than we expected and the views, both from the balcony and the restaurant are simply amazing. Staff is so friendly and helpful, the ones in the reception speak English very well. They helped us with snorkeling tours and scooter rentals and the prices were good compared to what we saw on offer down the road. There is a good selection of restaurants nearby. Not a party area, so don't expect that. The breakfast has lots of options and is definitely recommended.

In fact except Mr. Kwun. No one else smiled much. It's not as good as a vendor selling Thai snacks with a bright smile. As a hotel with a relatively high positioning. While you are happy with the money. Your service level, your sanitary environment, your geographical location, and your various supporting facilities should also keep up. Among them, the comprehensive quality of service personnel is very important. Empathy is also important. The lady in the hijab (smiling to the whites, indifferent to the Chinese), took us to the hotel room. There are two rooms available, let's just use one of them. Of course, there is really no need for our family of three. But not something you can bring to me. Because I defaulted to paying for the entire room. No matter how many rooms I think I have the right to use. (In the end we didn't use it because we didn't want to burden the cleaning staff, and indeed we didn't need it) because we were scheduled to go to Krabi Airport at 5 pm. So after hotel check out (2pm). The BOSS of the hotel arranged another villa for us to rest. Thank you so much. However, the lady at the front desk who wore a hijab led us to the living room without air conditioning. It's still hot in July. This makes me uncomfortable. I don't know if it was the headscarf lady's own idea or the decision of the hotel boss. Don't criticize me, you are picky and picky when you live in a free room. The day before, I directly mentioned how much it would cost to add money for a delayed check-out. Mr kwun said it was free. I just decided to rest at the hotel. . How could I know that the price was too high or there was no air-conditioning? It doesn't matter if I just book a cheap hotel for rest. The kindness of the original boss was taken to the living room by the turban lady to rest. I fell asleep and woke up from the heat. uncomfortable. Later, I applied to the boss again, and went to sleep in an air-conditioned room in the bedroom. The hotel boss also agreed. But I don't know why there is an extra twist. Cha-Ba's architectural style is unique and hard to forget in Klong Dao. The hotel is very close to the pier and can be reached on foot. Almost all of them are independent rooms, which are very spacious and comfortable for one person to live in. Because my flight was delayed and I was waiting for the ferry, it was already 11 o'clock when I arrived at the hotel. I was still waiting at the non-24-hour front desk. Thank you very much! The hosts are a local couple who are very warm and generous. The only bad thing is that the light and noise pollution are a bit loud, so you need eye masks and earplugs to sleep.

This was the best hotel we have ever been to I apsolutbly adored it I could stay there for a year if I had to. The staff were the nicest people I have ever met in my life and the pool was so so refreshing and I'm going next year. A truly delightful experience. Excellent rooms with bang up-to-date facilities and a wonderful staff. Everything works well; upkeep is obviously visible, unlike many other resorts. Lovely pool, tasty food at the restaurant, fantastic shower and overall a perfect stay. Grazie Massimo, you have created a veritable oasis in Long Beach. Anthony
