We recently stayed at Candlewood Lodge as part of our Garden Route trip. It was one of our favourite places we stayed at due to the lovely staff, lovely food and comfortable accommodation. One of us is gluten free and we were so well looked after. Even being shown around the beautiful breakfast buffet to say what was safe to eat. We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival including some homemade biscuits. Alice’s baking was incredible and gluten free too! If you have the chance to have dinner too please do it as the chef is so talented and we had the opportunity to have a superb meal without even having to leave the premises.

Candlewood Lodge is a very stylish, high quality, Guest House. The staff are all very friendly & helpful & the good is excellent. We especially liked the location which is a few minutes up the hillside offering a fantastic view of the lagoon & Knysna Heads + is away from the hustle & bustle of the town & Thesen Island. Highly recommended!

The hosts had some very good tips for activities around the area and the apartments were also very nice with a good view over the Knysna Bay Area.

I stayed in this beautiful and cozy property in Knysna, with my wife. I would like to specifically call out a few points in appreciation. 1) Extremely friendly, polite staff and owners. Matthias, Urs, Faith and all others were so welcoming and each member personally interacted with us, which made our stay really pleasant and special. 2) Food - The breakfast buffet and mains were really delicious. They were very accommodative of our dietary preferences and the menu was very thoughtful too! 3) Location - one can see the knysna lagoon from the room and it's a spectacular view. There's a supermarket that's close-by and it's quite close to the main attractions in Knysna. 4) Room - the rooms are spacious and are very well designed with all the amenities. Even the decorative items in the room were carefully chosen and uplifted the aesthetics of the room. The place adds to the charm of Knysna. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend others as well!

Super Lodge, die von Schweizern geführt wird. Wir hatten das beste Frühstücksbuffet auf unserer ganzen 5-wöchigen Südafrikareise. Das Zimmer war gross und hell mit einem Sitzplatz auf dem Balkon. Alles so richtig zum Wohlfühlen. Wären gerne länger geblieben. Sehr nettes Personal.

We really enjoyed our stay at Candlewood Lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed, very comfortable and every detail has been thought of. The location is good. The view is stunning. The breakfast was top quality, very scrumptious and the selection excellent.
