Star Hotel

Arranged at short notice our stay at the Star exceeded our expectations. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was great, bed very comfortable and we couldn't recommend it more highly.

A huge investment was made to renovate the Star. Twice now I’ve visited, the first with a group of 8 in the restaurant and one meal never arrived. Recently in the bar with a group of 6 and upon arrival with the place not overly busy the bar was littered with empty glasses and crushed coke cans - not a great look. Once seated we were asked to order quickly as a 40 seater coach was inbound! When the food eventually arrived it was fair to mediocre but expensive and when the table required clearing the female waitress was behind the bar on her phone! We cleared the table ourselves with the bar manager nowhere to be seen. Sadly and as anyone who’s familiar with the term ‘Highland Hospitality’ (poor service), the Star staff apparently require constant supervision and management - something that is currently lacking. I’m aware of friends and family who have visited recently and have had a similar experience - incorrect orders being served and poor service overall. Sorry Davie, Bistro it is - a bar manager with a strong pedigree is required otherwise your clients will vote with their feet and stay away.

The carvery was delicious and good value. Served by friendly and caring staff. The dining area is relaxed. I love the scottish pictures on the walls. I will definitely return and will recommend to others. Thank you.

We enjoyed staying a lovely room with a super comfy bed, and had a great meal in the Jacobite Restaurant. Would recommend!

A well appointed luxury hotel Our first stay but not our last Great super king room lovely linen comfy bed spacious walk in shower Nothing not to like Real milk in the fridge, for tea ,very much appreciated. Breakfast a little slow on the second night but it was a full dinning room in fairness.

Enjoyed our stay, room was very comfortable with a lovely big bed and a walk in shower. We had a good scottish breakfast with lots of choice. The lift up to the bedrooms was important for me as I have limited mobility. The staff were friendly and helpful.
