Ellas Cottages - Key West Historic Inns

Family from London including two late teenagers, we stayed here after fulfilling a long-held dream to drive down the Florida Keys. Traffic meant we were late arriving but they stayed late to welcome us which was great. Room was excellent , very clean, very spacious with a living area, bedroom and mezzanine bedroom area and brilliantly located for the main shops, bars and everything else. A magical few days.

Like every hotel/B&B, Ella's Cottages has its pluses and minuses. The pluses: The hotel staff is great, especially the manager. He was very welcoming. The property was beautifully maintained. The location was perfect. The breakfast basket was terrific. The minuses: The A/C unit was near the floor so it was perpetually warm in the room. There wasn't any way for the air to travel upward. The room was tiny with the bed taking up most of the room. The television was mounted but my husband kept running into it. I usually don't bring my hair dryer but I will from now on. The room dryer had some sort of sticky mung on it. There were a couple of roaches in the room but it's Florida and they're everywhere. It's a fairly nice place but there's room for improvement, especially for the price.

10/10 Perfect stay! Highly, HIGHLY recommend! Great location, great breakfast, great staff, great room. The entire grounds were well kept, inside and out. Definitely worth the money. Again, I can't say enough good things about Ella's Cottages.

Awesome property and location BUT I couldn't sleep I never leave a review but I had to with this stay. As far as the property and location goes-awesome! Customer service was also great along with the cute breakfast baskets they delivery every morning BUT room #20 that we stayed in had a horrible noise coming from behind the door where the furnace/water heater, whatever it was it was constantly going on and off and making a very loud pitch noise. Then the back bedroom I slept in had non stop noises coming from behind the wall from 7am sharp ALL day long so I couldn't ever sleep in past 7am and I also couldn't nap during the day because of these noises coming from behind the wall. Do not stay in room 20 if you can help it. Other than that the place would have been amazing.

We loved the patio and pool area.

Great place, clean, located near most everything- very walkable- breakfast baskets were spot on
