Have not stayed anywhere this good for years. Customer service top notch. Food so tasty. My room was brilliant. All staff pleasant and so happy to ensure my stay was perfect. I am looking forward to a return visit. The weather was also perfect! So all in all no complaints whatsoever. I would recommend anyone to stay here I don’t think you will be disappointed! Just returned from a super holiday in the Lake District, staying at the delightful Borrowdale Gates Hotel. I had been recommended to this hotel by a friend and he was so right. Lovely location, lovely hotel and brilliant food. We were delighted with our April stay and eagerly looking forward to another stay in the early Autumn.

The Lake District's Jewel in the crown hotel, offering exceptional accommodation and superb fine dining with extensive quality wines and beverages. The hotel atmosphere is that of serenity, peace and relaxation. Views from the windows are breath-taking vistas, visiting birds and red squirrels. Rooms are impeccably presented and maintained, with daily servicing and cleansing. Bedrooms and en-suites are very comfortable. Public rooms allow total relaxation, enjoyable refreshments and the excellent views. No dogs, children and noisy piped music in public areas whilst relaxing and reading a good book or having a conversation. Clientele are very respectful of the facilities and guests. Very welcoming and helpful reception staff, putting you at ease after a long journey. All staff are diligent, courteous and accommodating. Have been staying at this excellent hotel for several years and it has never disappointed. It is hoped that the new consortium of owners do not have the temerity to dismiss the excellent management of this unique hotel, which is patronised by loyal regular revisiting clientele, who appreciate its excellence.

What an amazing hotel this is! We are frequent visitors to the Lakes but this was our first stay at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel. From the warm greeting at reception, a complimentary upgrade, which was very much appreciated, and the friendliest service in the bar area, I really couldn’t fault our stay. We stayed on Saturday 22nd March, for one night, and we had such a lovely time, I can’t wait to visit again. We were lucky enough to enjoy some unusually warm weather for March & were able to enjoy the hospitality of the hotel in the outside area. The views are truly stunning & nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the bar. We enjoyed a 3 course meal as part of our dinner, bed & breakfast stay which was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff were attentive, helpful and polite, a true credit to the hotel. Following our meal I enjoyed an espresso martini or two in the lounge and they were made perfectly. The lounge itself is tastefully decorated and a lovely place to relax after your meal. Breakfast was also an equally enjoyable experience and again the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast itself was also delicious. I had the Cumbrian breakfast and everything was of excellent quality and delicious. I highly recommend the Borrowdale Gates Hotel, a stunning hotel in the Borrowdale Valley.
