Everything is good. The decoration and furnishings of the hotel are very tasteful, and the service is old-school and warm.

A lovely hotel, great location, delicious breakfasts and friendly professional staff. The rooms were clean and a nice size. I would definitely book this hotel again.

Booked a lake view room at higher rate. While checking in, the receptionist emphasised that the room was on the top floor and there was a magnificent view. Upon entering the room it was found that the room was already occupied by somebody else.. It was obvious that someone made a mistake by allocating my room to somebody else. Was then given another room just next to the first one and was told that the view was the same. But the so-called lake view room was only a very narrow ***** of water afar. Did not complain as it was already late in the evening; planned to leave early in the next morning anyway. Not a good impression.

We've just returned from three fantastic nights at The Crow Park Hotel, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Full of charm, rich history, and unique character, this family-run hotel offers something really special being genuine warmth and exceptional customer care that's hard to find these days. If you're after modern gadgets and flashy features, this may not be your place, but what you'll get instead is far more rewarding with breathtaking views of Catbells and Hope Park, and an unbeatable location just a stone's throw from the heart of Keswick. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding, and we especially loved chatting with the owner, whose passion for the hotel's heritage and deep knowledge of Keswick made our stay even more memorable. We leave feeling completely recharged and without a doubt, we'll be back.

We have just got back. We stayed for two night. The hotel is decorated to a high standard. We had room 30 which is a twin room with fabulous views of the mountains and gardens. The room was very clean beds comfortable. The small seating are by the bay window is lovely . All staff were very helpful and friendly. The parking at the back of the hotel could do with a sign post at the end of the entrance as you can easily miss it. The car park is very tight, but worth £6.00 per day. If you have mobility problems this may not be the hotel for you. There are step sets at the front and the back way is up a steep hill. Plenty of choice for breakfast. We would stay here again.

The good news – bright, clean hotel with beautifully decorated room and comfortable beds. Fab views, of course! Not so good – we were ‘welcomed’ by a dour unsmiling young man who slapped a bill on the counter and said that they needed us to pay this balance straight away. Have you got a lift? No, it’s only on the first floor, we were told. Not “I’ll give you a hand with your suitcases”! So he sat and watched my husband struggle up the stairs (we are in our late 70s). I had rung several days ahead to ask if there were sheets and blankets instead of duvets (we get too hot) and I was told “I don’t think so, I will call you back”. No call, so we brought our own bedding, thank goodness. On arrival, when we asked if they had in fact supplied sheets, the reply was “I don’t know who told you that. Of course you would expect sheets and blankets from a £200/night hotel”. Unpleasant, accusative tone. The room and bathroom looked great. However…. the shower had no soap dish, no sliding/removable shower, only overhead; no hooks for clothes, no towel rail/ring for a hand towel near the washbasin, and nowhere to put anything except on the window ledge or skinny shelf above the basin. I asked for a soap dish the next day and was told that they would have to get one on order – although one did magically appear. Shouldn’t have to ask though, should I? In the bedroom there was a long totally blank wall, no pictures to cheer it up, no full length mirror – just saying. Storage was very poor with very few, tiny drawers that you can’t get even a normally folded t-shirt into. I reckon they were 28cm/11” square! I’ve never seen such tiny drawers in a hotel room! When I politely commented on that, I was told that they found people don’t normally bring much with them!! What?! And the tiny drawers? Ah, we can’t change that. And finally, the breakfast. No buffet because “People don’t like other people coughing and sneezing over their food” which translates as “we want to control what and how much you are allowed to have”. Fair enough, there is a need to control overheads and to stop people taking enough for the lunch as well. However….. Stingy fruit salad, no berries; choice of one yoghourt – natural and fat-free, no flavours. Rushed hot food that was usually lukewarm because I didn’t eat my fruit salad quickly enough. And no fripperies like croissants or pastries. We don’t do those. Ah, and I asked for poached eggs on (specifically) buttered toast. Toast was not buttered because “the chef doesn’t butter toast”!! What can you say to that?! This hotel could be so much better with a little common sense and a lift in attitude to their guests and their needs. The impression given is 'short arms/deep pockets'. The staff can appear to be full of bonhomie – until any form of criticism or request for something they haven’t provided. I now expect to be put in my place with an acerbic telling-off from Ian who reminds me of Basil Fawlty – judging by pre
