The environment and facilities of the B&B itself are very good, and it is a very atmospheric accommodation. The biscuits in the room were delicious, and the meals provided by the B&B were also good, but not cost-effective (some dishes were a bit salty). The location is relatively remote, and I feel that people who stay here generally drive their own cars. We are a bit far away from Keswick and Derwentwater, and if the bus stops, we can only call to book a taxi. However, the overall accommodation experience is still very good!

First things first, the staff , absolutely spot on as always , we've stayed here many times and they really are a credit to the place , never met the kitchen team but a thank you to them too for turning out quality dishes time after time, this was a double birthday break for us so we booked the master bedroom as a special treat, here's what I thought, the clear and obvious feature of this room is the stunning view from the huge bay window , it's a good sized room with a super king bed and seating in the bay window , the bathroom has a shower and bath combo, we were there June 20th and the back end of a heatwave , the room was hot , obviously with windows like that it's going to be , so the windows were open , the downside to this is the road noise , certain times of the day it gets busy so noise is inevitable, the other little niggle I had was the location of room 4s bathroom loo , I could hear it 3 or 4 times a night flushing more or less close to the headboard , do I think it was worth the extra cost for that room, in all honesty probably not, imho for the premium price paid I think guests staying 3 or more nights could be provided with bathrobes and possibly an afternoon tea or something along those lines to enhance their stay [ just my opinion ] , however we will be going back hopefully in July and October in one of the other rooms , we love the place like many other repeat guests , and look forward to our stays. If you are looking for a quality hotel backed up with first class staff then book with confidence, not forgetting it's pet friendly.

On a positive the bed was comfy and the staff were friendly. I booked a solo night, single room...didnt expect it to be third floor basically an attic room... There was a pile of hair on the bathroom floor... The walls were so thin I could here next doors snoring for most of the night . I was at the back of the hotel, so no view, other than the scaffolding and at 9 am the next morning, contractors on said scaffolding...! No pre warning. Hard enough as a single female to be confident travelling...but truly felt like the poor relation. Parking was difficult....ie no space at all and obviously road not suitable so had to sit in my car and wait. For me sadly not the 4 star rating ...I am a regular visitor to the Lakes and sadly for me a far from great experience.

Just returned from a long weekend at Ravenstone Manor. Couldn't fault it at all - superb location, excellent food, very welcoming and helpful staff, and lovely areas in the lounge and bar areas to relax after a day's walking. Made the perfect venue to spend quality time with friends for a birthday celebration. Will certainly be recommending to others. An example of how friendly and helpful the staff are - one day I asked if there was any peanut butter available for my toast, and the following day Teresa one of the serving staff in the restaurant brought me some peanut butter for me personally - now that's good service!
