Booked a double room and paid for Spa access for my boyfriends birthday. The room itself had lovely view but was very small and had not been thoroughly cleaned - there was thick dust on the surfaces and marks on the toilet. The bathroom especially requires some serious TLC with cracks and gaps in the tiles/door the showers water pressure was also minimal. The wallpaper was ripped and the walls/skirting boards clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long while. The food in the Brasserie was a real let down, I sent my lamb back as it was inedible and the duck my boyfriend ordered left a lot to be desired. The deserts were also a very mixed bag - overall the restaurant felt like it was trying to do high end but fell far short of that mark for both courses we had. The service was really good however and we couldn’t fault the staff. However, we both spent most of the night and the following morning/day on the loo which added insult to injury for sure! The Spa was stunning and they made a fuss of my boyfriend’s birthday which was lovely. I would definitely return to the Spa but would be inclined to stay elsewhere - it was extremely expensive (£500+) for what it was and was overwhelmingly disappointing!! When I checked out the staff at the front desk didn’t care to ask how our stay was and was absolutely not interested in anything I’ve raised. Which is above all the most disappointing of it all. Stay elsewhere and come here for the spa!

A lovely stay for a friends birthday. Beautiful hotel in an amazing setting. The spa was extra special, especially the infinity pool. The staff were very friendly, always excellent service. Had amazing food in the Asian restaurant. Breakfast good choices. We stayed on a deal , so our room was at the back of the hotel and was in need of an upgrade but there was work going on in other rooms on that corridor so hopefully that is being addressed. Will definitely be returning.

We found the hotel to be warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere good. The outdoor pool at the Spa was particularly enjoyable. On a crisp and sunny day it was a treat to look out on the lake and countryside.

I went to the hotel to treat my boyfriend for his birthday. We stayed in the Derwentwater suite and it was stunning! The views over the lake were just beautiful. The spa was brilliant, loved the atmosphere and again views were amazing. The mizu restaurant was absolutely amazing! Best sushi I have ever had. Expensive but worth it! X

service was good, the room was clean and the bed comfterble, spa was very relaxing, the hotel is in a very good location, the only thing you could complain about with this hotel is the road outside you need to be very careful crossing, would 100% go back to this hotel

Everything about the trip was a disaster from start to finish. We had booked a Lodore Suite, and when we arrived were very disappointed in the room compared to what is advertised on the website. We tried to speak to the staff about this and were told theres nothing they can do, and it says the rooms vary on the website. This is true, however it does not explain how dramatically different they are. The staff said on the website it says what is in each lodore suite and why they are different, although this isnt on the website and when we tried to explain this, they was no explanation. The headline pictures for these suites have balconies and good views, our room had neither, and the images of our room are cleverly taken so you cannot see this fact. The spa was ok, nothing spectacular for the money it costs to go to. Booked into the Mizu restaurant for dinner. Other couples were brought in after us and served, we had to ask for our order to be taken as they had forgot. Food was good, but the drinks service was poor again, with drinks repeatedly forgotten. The breakfast brought to the room the next morning was the saddest looking Full English we have ever seen. One piece of each thrown onto a plate and barely warm. And to top it all off the apples in the room were bruised. Only highlight was the man working in the bar in the evening! Will not be returning. Its an expensive place to stay, considering the service we received.

I had Naomi for a full body massage. She was amazing and will definitely be booking a nother massage with her. The spa experience in the morning beforehand was heaven. Booked in for Mizu for lunch afterwards which was out of this world with flavour and amazing food and cocktails
