We stayed 2 nights to celebrate hubby’s birthday. We had a lake view room with balcony. The room and views were excellent. We had robes and slippers, a good supply of coffee pods( this is not always the case!) and plenty of toiletries in bathroom. Everything was spotless. The views from our balcony were just fabulous, although there is a draft from the huge patio doors. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and worked hard to ensure our stay lived up to expectations. The lounge bar is lovely to relax in and take in the views. We were disappointed that the access to the Lodore Falls from hotel has been blocked off and we had to walk down the road and through flooded woodland to get to the falls. The only thing we felt that was lacking was the breakfast. It was fine but just didn’t quite have the same 5star rating. The full breakfast was small and the continental buffet had no cheeses, cold meats etc. if you wanted these you had to forgo the cooked breakfast. Just didn’t quite feel the luxury breakfast you would expect here. Overall we really enjoyed our stay though. Thank you.

The room i booked was the cheaper room (without the extra cost for a view) but looking out the window to a skip and bins was slightly disappointing for a "luxury" hotel. cleanliness of the room and bathroom was good, however the TINY shower head is completely outdated for ANYONE in this day and age, being the cheaper room it also lost access to a hair dryer and bathrobe, which the more expensive rooms had, for the cost this should be standard. The walk in wardrobe had a very off putting damp smell to it. Another disappointing factor, is that the TVs could not access streaming services, again not up to todays standards, nor did they have access to even YouTube. The bathroom light had an extractor fan which made a huge bang every time you turned the light on or off. The general temperature of the hotel seemed slightly chilly through out, to turn on the radiator in my room we had to move furniture to get onto the floor, and find the switch. The staff were all VERY friendly. Going to the waterfall was also disappointing, as the main selling point, was extremely hard to actually reach due to barbed wire and padlocked gates. Obviously keeping the wolves out or something....

We stayed two nights with friends. We have stayed in many of the Lake District Hotels over the years. The Lodore Falls is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting on the shore of Derwentwater. Our superior room was beautifully decorated and modernised, the bars and restaurants are also very nice. We had dinner in the Brasserie on the first night, we all enjoyed our food and the service was good. The 2nd night we had dinner in Mizu restaurant, which was exceptional in every way, food, staff, service, etc. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was below their usual high standard. Food was served luke warm at best and it was bland. I mentioned it to our waiter, the food was taken away and replaced. The 2nd plate was similarly luke warm Very disappointing. If Brasserie addressed this, I would have given the 'Excellent' rating.

The hotel is very relaxing and the staff are very nice. The spa experience is excellent if not a bit pricey for hotel guests. The only downside is the tasteless food in the brasserie restaurant, we ate the second night at the Pheasant in Keswick, which was excellent tasty local food, which if it was offered in the hotel would have been lovely to experience. Also the rooms at the back of the hotel have a disappointing view over an industrial roof which could easily be remedied with a roof top garden in keeping with the beautiful surroundings.

We had the most wonderful stay at Lodore as a treat for my 30th birthday. We stayed in a deluxe suite which was so beautifully laid out and so well decorated. The spa was extremely clean and never felt too busy. We enjoyed a mud rassoul in a private chamber which we thoroughly enjoyed. The first night we ate at Mizu- what an incredible restaurant the food was absolutely fantastic and big portions! The second night we ate in the Brasserie and the food here was brilliant too. Breakfast was lovely both days, with great quality bacon and sausage and a nice selection of pastries. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge bars both nights and found every single member of staff so polite and helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic stay in a breathtaking location. Staff were a delight and were always more than happy to help with anything. The doggy sausage at breakfast was a particularly great touch.
