Very well located for access to The Lake District and the M6. Room was compact but clean with plenty of coffee making facilities. The bar/lounge /restaurant was very nice with excellent food and atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff. Plenty of parking on arrival but may get bust at weekend evenings such is the popularity of the place. Highly recommend if looking to visit the lakes or just to break a journey.

Bathroom had not been cleaned properly with the drain being full of several days/weeks of hair.Pillows flat not very comfy at all. Lots of noise in evening think maybe local meet place? Food was ok. Basic i personally would not stay again. I won't add photo as problem resolved quickly but felt ruined my stay.

Great place to stay to explore the lakes
Overall, the stay was very good and was perfect for our trip to the Lake District. The location is perfect for navigating the Lakes as easy access to the M6. To the top of the lakes, it took us 1 hour by car. The continental breakfast served was plenty to start each day with. You can have cooked for £12 extra but we felt the continental option was more than enough.
The room was spacious and up to date. We stayed in the Herdsman. Only downside was the walls are very thin, meaning you can hear quite a lot next door conversation but that is to be expected in a pub with partition walls.
The pub itself is traditional and well kept together. Food served was standard pub food. Free parking is always a massive bonus.

Been there just for one night with a group but well organised and a friendly reception. Friendly staff as well. Room was good, nice and clean. Breakfast is simple style but good and standard continental. Room for parking was good as well. No complaints.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel beautiful location friendly staff a wonderful experience would recommend & Maria on the reception was very helpful .
