We stayed here for a couple of nights over Christmas. The room was lovely, huge bed, and huge walk in shower. It was nice and warm. But in the night, a bit too warm! It seemed the heating was on most of the night. Tried turning it down, but I don't think it did anything. It was room only. And if you wanted breakfast, you had to pre book in the restaurant, then pay separately in there. We had a light lunch in there, and the food was really good. Staff were very friendly. We booked breakfast on the first morning after arriving. We had a full English and a veggie English. Very good, and just the right portion size. The only thing I would say is the beans came in a separate pot, but we're cold. Not sure if they were supposed to be? There is a lounge bar, but we were told we couldn't have drinks in there, as it was for the golf members. So we weren't allowed to just get drinks, only if we were sitting in to eat. Bear in mind, this was 24/12 to 27/12 and we only saw two golfers. So unless you like tea, coffee or tepid water from the room, there was no other facilities for drinks. I would think if you were paying for a room, and spending money in the restaurant, we were allowed to use the other facilities. We wore masks in all indoor areas, but seemed it wasn't really a rule there. Some were, some weren't. The room wasn't cleaned etc, but we we're told this, and there were extra tea, coffee, milk sachets, and extra towels which was good. We stayed in the lodge room. There was someone in the opposite room, and another couple above us. They were so loud above, we didn't sleep much. We hoped it would just be that one time. Everything was quiet until about 11pm, when we were going to sleep, they would come in, banging up the stairs, slamming doors, and something heavy fell onto their floor with a crash. This went on for about an hour. Then someone would go out to the car, slamming the doors and back up the stairs. So we were pretty fed up. So it was a lovely place, just shame about not being permitted in the lounge bar, where we would probably have been in every night.
