Echo Point Discovery Motel

Great location, friendly staff and easy parking outside. 

Nice clean cosy old-fashion motel... walk to Echo Point..

When choosing accommodation you hope to have a comfortable bed to sleep in and worm shower, especially on a cold winters morning and unfortunately here we didn’t have either. The main bed was hard as a board and the mattress on one of the singles was so thin you could feel every spring. There was also a funny musty overall smell to the room. Little things to note is that there are no storage draws apart from those in the bathroom sink. No bin in the bathroom. No conditioner, only a body/shampoo in the shower, and we gave up on watching a movie as the connection to the TV was really bad and it kept glitching. On the positives, the location is great and close to all the main attractions. The family room was a good size and rooms look to be recently updated, (although door knobs already loosening, and condensation/water pools big time around the windows so don’t leave anything too close!). The reception staff seem nice in the short interaction we had when checking in. We did try and see them to report the lack of warm water however no one was on duty, so after standing around in a towel in the cold for 10+ minutes there was no choice but to shower under cold water, when this was reported after checkout we were only told the issue would be reported to maintenance.

EPDM is a quintessential Australian motel. It’s very utilitarian in its layout, decor and furnishings. But it is still cosy and sufficiently equipped to ensure a comfortable stay. Check in was a breeze, and checkout was even easier. It’d be foolish to not highlight where EPDM is located. It is extremely convenient to The Three Sisters and the public transport bus (opal card required) stops right out the front and can take you to/from Scenic World in moments. 10/10 recommend this place - it’s the perfect combination of comfort, affordable and convenience to attractions.
