I have found my Shangri La in this beautiful Hotel. From the moment I stepped out from the car into Hotel to the departing one week later I had enjoyed my stay tremendously. Incredibly friendly staff, wonderful spacious Villa, gourmet breakfast. What else one can seek? The hotel is far away from tourist spots, located on a hillside overlooking beautiful gardens and tourquoise ocean. The hotel provides daily free trips with a boat to a sandbank about 15 minutes ride in the middle of pristine waters of the Indian Ocean. There are two good restaurants in the hotel, one with nightly show. But if you want to explore nearby eating spots, the Hotel provides with round trip transportation. I promised myself that shall be back at Le Mersenne

Lovely hotel. The hotel gave a transfer which was good and felt reasonable for the price Very clean, very modern, staff were very good on the whole, although a few staff members who expected a tip before really doing their job; an example, one member of staff accompanied us to a table at dinner (that we had already started walking to) and then stood waiting for a tip. The pools were lovely and warm and always clean. The beach was delightful and the excertion team left us be once we advised that we weren’t interested. The downside to the beach was the hawkers who were eagerly waiting for us to venture out of the hotels boundaries (e.g. the sea) and so the hotel could do nothing about it. The food was delicious and a decent variation of both western and local cuisines. The spa massage was delightlful and I would recommend The sea was incredibly hot and shallow and so we spent limited time in there. The room was clean, spacious with a great shower and comfortable beds and lovely balconies – we did not have a fault with it. On our second night, due to heavy rain there was a puddle at our door an the staff were very quick and attentive to resolve it. We had a very late night arrival and the hotel very kindly provided us with sandwiches in the room as we had missed dinner but it was included in the room.

Fantastic resort. I can’t say enough about the staff, the grounds, the amenities, the location, the activities, etc. I was there with my wife for 9 days, I could’ve stayed another month! As beautiful as the Tulia is, it was the staff that made this week+ complete. Friendliest and most helpful staff I’ve encountered in a LONG time. I’m recommending the Tulia to everyone I know looking for an amazing vacation. Not to name drop, I wish I could remember them all, but thank you, Michelle, Jonas, Kate, the bartenders, the wait staff, the housekeeping crew, the groundskeepers, the chef, etc. you are all wonderful! There are amazing things to do in Zanzibar and there’s adventure around every corner, but the Tulia is so welcoming and professional that you don’t need to leave the resort to have a great time!

We came to this hotel on the 2nd of October 2024. We were in room 122 which is directly outside the main swimming pool near the beach. This hotel is a wonderful hotel and has all the ameenities you could wish for. We had a lovely stay at this hotel and I must say the staff was so very friendly indeed And very, very helpful. There was plenty of food however it was extremely bland and considering you’re on the spice island there was no herbs or spices used which is a big disappointment indeed hence my reduction in my score. We went to the Indian restaurant one night and this was the best night we’ve had food wise to be honest. I would’ve expected much better quality of food as well because the beef was very very tough no matter what you had for example the beef burgers, the meatballs or the beef stew. I feel what needs to happen is rather than having separate restaurants. Have one big restaurant where spicy food is served as well as non-spicy food for those that can’t take spices Because to be honest when you come to a country like this you expect food to have good flavour. Also normally when you arrive at a hotel you are offered a welcome drink. This was not given at all in fact we found the reception to be very cold indeed and not very welcoming, however Jennifer from crab tours based on the grounds of the hotel while talking to us and albeit not her job, she offered to get us a drink so that was extremely kind of her And also she guided me to the poolside with my dad when my mum needed to nip to the loo. A couple of things that need really looking into sincerely are the lack of bottled water. This is not acceptable at all because you had to use the water coolers on site and wait for your bottles to be filled up in your room by the cleaner Bottles of water should be available right across the complex. Another thing that really does need looking into is the fact that the toilets are not bolted to the floor so they are mobile and finally the one really big thing is it inside the shower area it is extremely slippy. You need rubber matting in there or something to stop. You potentially slipping and falling we had to use towels on many occasions. Also in the rooms you did not get a telephone so if you needed help and support you couldn’t get it without physically going to reception. Prior to our arrival we did ask for a room on the ground floor and they managed to do this for us due to my visual impairment which was fabulous. Also we asked if we could keep the room on until we left this was accepted as well once we explained my visual impairment to reception. For me though the big thing that they need to look into as well is rather than you having to wait until your last day to see if you can keep your room you should be able to ask do so upon arrival because the room could get booked up whilst you are staying there. Also, if the room is available, you shouldn’t be charged for it because you have paid plenty for the holiday anyway. And finally the one

The hotel is very comfortable and it is very good to get a little more than the previous opinion, but I find the note too hard ... The swimming pool would deserve some more maintenance, that's true. The restaurant is very long, but it's a constant in Zanzibar. The meat is coriace ... But the frame is beautiful. And above all, the staff is really nice and deserves a 4/5
