I clearly booked a king-size bed room, and because I was traveling alone, the booking confirmation also stated a king-size bed room. Then when I arrived at the hotel that night, the front desk told me that all the king-size bed rooms were full. They upgraded my room for free, which seemed like a good thing, but when I got to the room, I saw that it was actually two small beds! Upgrading a king-size room to a king-size room should be the most basic common sense in the hotel industry, right? Although the hotel said that they moved me to a higher floor, it doesn't mean that the bed type has to be changed, right? Who told you not to reserve the double bed room I booked? ? Although the hotel asked the waiter to put the two small beds together, they did not replace them with a large mattress or bedding like other hotels did. There was a gap in the middle, which kept me awake all night! In addition, I wrote clearly in the notes that I have a light sleep and I don't want a room close to the elevator. The whole breakfast was eggs without any protein, all were various kinds of cakes, and the bread was only toast and croissants, a mess. The hotel is small but comfortable for vacations.
The hotel upgraded me to a room on a high floor, which provided excellent value for money. However, compared to the free airport and bus stop pick-up services in Kathmandu and Pokhara, it might cost an additional 500 rupees to get to the luxury bus meeting point, which is a 6-minute drive away.
I was so tired after coming back from Pokhara, and the check-in staff sent a plate of fruit to the room, which was so thoughtful!
Next time I come to hike EBC, I will stay here and have a good rest!
