Hotels in Pier-2 Art Center/Yanchengpu Station, Kaohsiung

A functional hotel in a very convenient location, near Pier No. 2, the Art District, where it is convenient to walk, and fairs are held on holidays. Nearby is a high-speed tram stop, which passes through all the piers and all the necessary places in the city, and several bus stops are nearby. My room was quite spacious, and the cleaning was impeccable. The room is nice and modern, but you have to keep in mind that there are only a few hangers (no closet), and the lighting in the room is a little dark (although there is a desk lamp on the desk for working). Overall, I'm very pleased.

I am visiting my mom in Taiwan and decided to spend a couple of nights in Kaohsiung. I will be quite honest. I didn't have a lot of expectations staying at a Holiday Inn Express. But the stay exceeded my expectations. I took the MRT and the station is less than 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The check in process was smooth. I was offered a drink (I picked soda!) at check in for being a Platinum member. A very nice gesture. My room is small, but most rooms in Asia seem small to me coming from the US. It has a tiny view of the river and the park. You can tell the hotel is pretty new. I work a lot in my room wherever I am traveling in the world. This modern room provides all the necessary electric outlets for me to plug whatever I need in. This is important to me as well as good working wifi, which this property provides. Oh! They also gave me a basket of snacks and drinks! That was a very pleasant surprise! The breakfast selection is somewhat limited but sufficient whether you are into ********* or Western breakfast. I don't travel to Taiwan often, so whenever I can have ********* breakfast, that's what I eat! They even have a noodle station, but unlike most other Asian hotels I stayed at, it is a self-serve Noodle station. I don't trust myself enough to make one. I wonder if it is possible for the hotel to allocate a staff person to work the station. The service at the breakfast buffet was great! They offered to make me drinks. I took the opportunity to order some iced latte. I almost gave this place a 5-star, but there are a couple of things needed work: 1) I could never get the shower head aligned to face me directly while standing in the middle of the shower. 2) The water pressure in the sink is really low when it is on cold. If I turned it away from cold, the pressure is fine. But I don't always want warm or hot water. 3) This one is more of a personal suggestion. I wish this place had a gym/workout room. That's another thing I look for when I travel. Not sure if there is anything they can do. But just thought I would throw it out there. I read some unnecessary harsh reviews (like one earlier where the worker had trouble finding their reservation), but my experience tells me the staff tries their best to make your stay enjoyable. I am sorry I couldn't quite give this hotel a 5-star, but I will definitely stay here again in the future when I am in Kaohsiung!

The staff is kind and polite. They will ask you when they meet. The room is not novel but the space is large and clean. The bed group is soft and hard. It is good to sleep until I feel it until dawn. The water pressure is very strong. Hot water is open, their shower gel shampoo is very fragrant and washable, the breakfast provided is also good, there are many snacks around, Famous store duck meat treasure, mother-in-law ice is next to it, you can rent a public bicycle at the intersection, ride to the banana pier, the second is also very fast, the location is really good, it is recommended to ride a bicycle, there are many milk tea shops on Xinle Street in the back of the hotel are small and famous, and they are all must-visit trips. It is worth mentioning that the hotel has a parking lot that is flat open, not a parking space for mechanical equipment, this is a big plus, I have a very happy stay and recommend it to friends who want to stay in Kaohsiung.

Checking in process was smooth. Parking was also available at a parking building in front of the hotel. Room were suitable enough for four adults(we travelled as a family of two adults and two kids). Generally clean, staff was great. Breakfast was decent. Drinking water dispensers available at every floor. The only downside is you need to do laundry before 10pm as it’s mentioned that the room will be closed. It is free though, so good job for that.

We had booked via booking com, but if you book directly at the hotel, this is half. It is mainly the location at Pier 2 and the metro station, making this a handy hotel to stay. We stayed here for 3 nights. Our luxurious room with comfortable kingsize bed was clean and clean. nice small bathroom with shower and Japanese toilet. When I came to Kaohsiung in March of this year, it was under construction haha. I used it this time haha. It was clean and comfortable to rest haha. Except for the fact that the air conditioning in the room wasn't working in advance, I had a very comfortable stay haha.
