It is the first time I write a review but in this case I feel I must. I am very enthousiastic about this Inn! The place is wonderful, just in front of the sea. In fact one can hear the sound of the waves while in the hot bath. The food was excellent, the stuff was very friendly and hospitable, the room was very nice. Overall, quality and harmony in everything. Just as an indication, one person from our group could not eat Japanese breakfast but was too shy to ask for a European one. They noticed themselves, apologised and offered something for familiar to him. I recommend the place with all my heart.

I always stay in Kamaishi in a business hotel, but it's boring, so I searched for an inn and found this one. From Kamaishi, I passed in front of the Rugby World Cup stadium. On the way, the high seawall makes me keenly aware of the 3/11 earthquake. I had read somewhere that the landlady was a storyteller of the earthquake disaster, but when I heard that she would be telling stories from 8 p.m., I wondered what to do. I thought it might be a little heavy, but I'd never met anyone who was telling stories about the earthquake disaster, so I listened. It wasn't too depressing, but it was a story that got the important points across. The thing that stuck in my mind the most was, "The person who runs first is the bravest person." I learned about the importance of daily living, such as the fact that the damage at the elementary school where we usually trained was kept to a minimum. The room was a single-person Japanese-style room with more than enough space for one person. The bath is not a hot spring, so it has a slight chlorine smell, but it's a pleasant bath in the large bath facing the sea. The food was delicious, but I was a little disappointed because my expectations were high. It's not far from the center of Kamaishi and you can use the free highway. It's a good choice of accommodation in Kamaishi. The storyteller is also recommended.

Great location overlooking the beach on one side and thickly wooded mountain slopes on the other. Very traditional inn/ hotel but we did have western style beds which were very comfortable. Well equipped bathroom as you find in all Japanese hotels including nightwear. Rooms also have tea and coffee making equipment. Enjoyed the open air Onsen bath where you can breathe in the lovely fresh pine scented air and fully relax. Dinner was traditional Japanese which was beautifully presented and mainly delicious, some dishes could be a bit challenging to those only used to western style food but this is very much part of the experience and you certainly won’t go hungry. Breakfast is also Japanese style and a wide range of tastes and textures, from steamed rice to braised salmon, savoury custard and various pickles. The staff made us feel very welcome.
